March 10, 20179 yr First I think I have paid for one bottle of water ever. 2nd with the price of soda going as high as it has gone, I can see why this has occurred. Bottled water overtakes soda as America’s No. 1 drink — and you should avoid both
March 10, 20179 yr Love when folks cry over the cost of gas, yet pay outrageous amount of money for water out of a bottle when tap is free.
March 11, 20179 yr Love when folks cry over the cost of gas, yet pay outrageous amount of money for water out of a bottle when tap is free. Actually my water bill every month says its not free out of the tap.
March 11, 20179 yr I just chuckle when I see folks spend $2.79 for a 24 oz. bottle of SmartWater........they should sue for false advertising.........cause they ain't getting any smarter spending that kind of coin.
March 11, 20179 yr I've never understood the ire against people that drink bottled water. There is a big taste difference between bottled waters and tap water. It's similar to someone arguing that a Pepsi drinker should drink Sam's Cola.

It's similar to someone arguing that a Pepsi drinker should drink Sam's Cola. There is no bottled water on the planet that is better than the tap water in Louisville. The main reason I only drink bottled water if I have to. I'll take tap water here 10 times out of 10.
March 11, 20179 yr I drink tap water but only after I have filtered it in my Brita pitcher. There is a world of difference in the taste, and water straight from the tap is awful as it has a dirty metallic taste. Been filtering for about 20 years. I rarely buy bottled water as I keep sturdy plastic bottles that I fill with my own filtered tap water. I don't trust flimsy plastic and particles breaking down in my water. If I'm out and about and need a refill I'll do so at McDonalds or whatever fast food joint that will let me.
March 11, 20179 yr I always have my 30oz RTIC tumbler filled with water/ice. But if I'm traveling/on the road, I have no problem buying bottled water...I'm not filling my glass with water out of a gas station bathroom tap. And I'm betting none of the bottled water haters out there are filling their jugs with gas station tap water either. I'm also betting very few drag a cooler around with them filled with water to drink all day either. Somebody is buying bottled water, and lots of it. And I'm guessing quite a few of the bottled water "haters" are buying more bottled water than they admit.
March 11, 20179 yr Many areas have great tap water, many many more do not. Go to central Indiana and try to drink that stuff, I dare you. :lol2: Even ice cold it's hard to drink, unless you are really thirsty.
March 11, 20179 yr I grew up on well water. It had a sulphur-y smell to it. Needless to say, I chose to drink pretty much anything else. @TheDeuce, I hope to one day live in the 'Ville and will remember that when I do, I'll no longer have to drink bottled water. :thumb:

Ahhh...the power of advertising and marketing. You create a need or a want, and then fulfill it at a profit. Similar to paying five bucks for a cup of Joe or eight bucks for a pint of "craft" beer. Where do people get all the money for this stuff?

Similar to paying five bucks for a cup of Joe or eight bucks for a pint of "craft" beer. Where do people get all the money for this stuff? I don't think the craft beer comparison is fair. I can't even put into words how much better craft beer tastes than the generic mass produced Bud's or Miller's. That's not to say I refuse to drink a Bud light. I'll always take beer over not beer, but I'll also always take good beer over cheap watery beer if I have the option.
