First off, how can you question what Beatty is doing at Trinity? He has 4 titles in 6 years! How many did Glaser win in his first 6 years? Trinity has been playing its sometimes used sophomores and rarely used juniors in its jv games to gain VALUABLE experience. Dont knock Trinity's philosophy just because X doesnt do it. Thats X's problem. And to say Beatty isn't about the kids, that just ludicrous. Beatty is looked upon by the players as a father figure and each of them knows he cares more about them than anything.

It boils down to this, St.X has its way of doing things on the jv level...and the varsity has won what, 12 titles? Trinity has 16 by doing it thier way. I'm going with Trinity's way...it seems to prove a better system.

X has 11 titles.

Did anyone hear the first question to Beatty on the radio? He made no effort to say he does not play varsity contributors in JV games. Good for him they won and lost. Won the game with better players but lost track of the purpose of high school athletics. That is why I will take Glaser any day over Beatty. He has the attitude I want in my high school coach, it is about the kids!

Go Tigers

I guess the part you didn't hear on the radio was a bunch of fans laughing at the question. You could hear people asking if maybe the question was a result of the 38-7 drilling Monday.

If you and your other fans feel good about it that is all that matters. Win at all costs continues....

I like and appreciate the way we do it even if it causes us to only have 11.

Observation.

Trinity lined up and slugged X in the mouth on Monday. X, in very unX-like fashion flinched.

About the Whole "playing juniors" thing. Isn't it called JUNIOR VARSITY?

GO ROCKS!!

Some of you are making me absolutely sick. Act like adults for Pete's sake. We play juniors, X plays juniors...do we use more? Who cares?

The only people that are making peolple really upset are BGP rookies who have NO IDEA what really goes on. WE at Trinity know that Bob Beatty is 100% an amazing coach, and has been wonderful for our program, just as Glaser is for the Xaverians.

Great win Rocks, way to get off the schnod.

Isn't it great how this works out. You like your coach, we like ours. I'll take Coach Beatty as a coach, mentor and role model. You guys like Glaser. Sounds like a plan.

Sorry LSU for coming off kind of snobby. Still just frustrated. But I also understand that Trinitys JV had four practices for themselves just to prepare for St. X and had a scouting report as well. Of course, I will get the replys saying "well X could have done that too" and yes they could have but it would have been very diffifult and some players don't have enough time to do that with balancing schoolwork with football, so to put it into perspective, yes Trinity played juniors, as did St. X, Trinity just played more and theirs made a bigger impact on the game and thats how they come out with a win. If people realize this fact we could stop complaining and actually go plack to talking about the thing that is really important here, HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL.

Petrino does not currently start on varsity. He is a sophmore that needs all the game reps he can get to be ready when he does get a chance to start. I say again, he is a non-starting sophmore. Stein doesn't even start as a junior WR. He will be called upon some day in a pressure situation to play QB and JV game experience will help him be prepared.Stein is Trinity's second string QB, as was X's Zoeller last year. If I recall, Zoeller started for X's JV all last year. I watched the entire X/HHS game and Trevor came in after the starter left witha minor injury according to the broadcast guy. .

Just to update the fine Fox Sports commentators and those who know Ricky, but I don't consider a dislocated kneecap a minor injury.

But I also understand that Trinitys JV had four practices for themselves just to prepare for St. X and had a scouting report as well.

 I have to nominate this for BGP Classics. This is an all time classic.

Where do they get this stuff?

Actually the JV scouting report read something like this:

1) put helmet on

2) see the X

3) hit the X

4) you win

Too funny. :dancingpa

You might want to fact check this. The Rocks swept the Tigers in 2003. The Rocks won in September and December that year.:thumb:

Exactly what I said. X won every Pride Week game between Monday and September 26, 2003.

I think you should take your own advice. Your comming off as a sore loser.

We try to make them understand. But, they never will. It is something you have to live before you understand.

GO ROCKS !

I feel so deprived! I'll never understand!

One of the interesting "lowlights" of my high school experience was a knife fight after a rivalry football game, causing the powers-that-be to schedule the remaining games on Saturday afternoons rather than on Friday nights. Makes the Trinity-X banter seem tame by comparison.

Nice win for the Trinity JV's! We at St. X. need to stop complaining about Trinity's utilization of juniors in this game. We know it is going to happen every year, but it is perfectly legal and within the rules. Just accept the fact that the coaches at X and T operate their JV programs under different philosophies, and if we have chosen under our own free will to play this game with one arm tied behind our back, then so be it. Let the chips fall where they may.

I think many of the new kittens on this site need to listen to this wise old Tiger. :thumb:

Well put. :thumb:
