January 22, 20179 yr Booker blew his chance over the Jeff Sessions stuff. I need to get a name of who you are talking about. If she can't walk on the tightrope she won't stand a chance right now. I'm interested to learn more about her. Kamala Harris.

Meet Kamala Harris, the Second Black Woman Elected to the U.S. Senate - NBC News Obviously I don't agree with her on issues but I try to be objective when I look for the future stars of each party. As a Republican I pray the Democrats nominate Elizabeth Warren but I think Democrats are smart enough to find someone else.

I will be incredibly disappointed if they don't go after new and younger blood immediately. We need new faces and new voices and if they can't recognize that then we are destined for more failure in the immediate future.

January 22, 20179 yr I suppose that we could split this hair for eternity, but the Packers are playing now and I'm more inclined to direct my attention to that...but... See it how you'd like, but the examples of protesters turned violent is not a large representation of those who protest peacefully, or those who don't approve of Trump but don't protest at all. To say that it is is painting the left broadly. ...As I had already said in another post... "Please don't make me dig through Youtube finding endless examples of gun enthusiastic Trump supporters threatening civil war if he wasn't elected". These examples would be videos of them speaking it out loud without need for media interpretation or slant. And you can't compare the reaction or lack there of to Obama to the reaction of Trump. Other than being black (for some), what was so polarizing, controversial or unusual about him that could logically warrant such hostile response? I honestly don't know what to say if you can't see for yourself that this is not normal circumstances and that Trump is not your ordinary president. To continue to keep making these comparisons as if they can be made, or make logical sense just has me shaking my head thinking that there's a big disconnect happening that many can't see within their own view. Obama didn't come across as an angry butt kicking guy rallying the rabid troops to discard the concerns of minorities or numerous others for the sake of taking back America, and from whom? The guy that just did this turned off A LOT of people with hate speak, so there's a world of difference between the two of them, and the difference in reaction is understandable. Who's painting with a broad brush? :lol2: My wife voted Trump. Many, many friends and good people I know voted for Trump and it certainly wasn't because they're rabid troops that discarded the concerns of minorities or numerous others. It was because they felt that the last 8 years the country was headed more and more in the wrong direction. It was because of failed policies. It was because of Obama's and Hillary's disconnect with the middle class. It was a lot of reasons, but it was never about hate. Feel free to post what videos you want. I will in turn post videos/pictures of hateful Hillary supporters and liberals that actually DID commit violent acts with no need for media interpretation or slant. Blaming Trump for their violent actions is not only comical, but pathetic at the same time. Abnormal circumstances or Trump not being your ordinary president is an extremely weak argument to validate violent acts. Actual violent acts, not mindless, cowardly drivel. Their reaction is NOT understandable. It's sad you see it that way. I understand them disliking him. I don't understand their behavior. You talk about how hateful Trump is and yet you're blind to the hate they spew as are they. It's truly astounding.

You talk about how hateful Trump is and yet you're blind to the hate they spew as are they. It's truly astounding. You are by trying to indicate that the violent protesters represent the majority of the left, which they don't. ...And I am most certainly not justifying violence just because I'm am comparing the reaction to Trump vs. Obama when explaining the mass disapproval. I understand the mass disapproval, and I disapprove of violent acts just as you would of the right who you seem to believe wouldn't, even though they warned that they would. Both sides have undesirable people who don't act sensibly, and to act as if it's only one side is bias driven denial. You create the platform for which I am responding to, and while fully knowing the intent of my words relay them back to make it me sound ridiculous all the while pretending like there's no reason whatsoever to find Trump ridiculous, which in itself is completely ridiculous. If you're uptight about violent protesters know that so am I, but the whole lopsided biased approach is tired, and pretending that the entire right are angels when they most certainly are not. Even many of civilized ones still have this aggressive mentality that you yourself are exuding. It's not appealing man, and it comes across and harsh and bitter. You're right many too on the left are bitter about Trump because of who he is, his off putting character, and the portrait that he painted in his candidacy of anger filled hatred, and that so many people bought into it was a startling reality to many that this aggressive mentality is so prevalent. People are wired differently for sure, and in reality right or wrong there's really not a whole lot that can be done to change that. In many cases it seems innate somehow. You see it often in same families where no matter what politics the parents have followed, numerous kids will be on different levels which so often match their temperament or levels of aggressiveness. Some will grow up thinking that they're Democrats because their parents are but because deep in their nature they really don't resemble a Democrat they ultimately come to find that they're really not. Some people are exactly how they are because their parents did aggressively push their agenda where some have been so indoctrinated beyond being able to see their true selves. There's many examples of this and that and how people got to where they are and just what's in their nature of being certain ways about stuff. We're a good example different mentalities and seeing things differently, and no matter how bizarre it might be to me that you see things the way you do, or how bizarre it might be to you that I see things the way the I do, there's very little chance that because of how we're wired, we'll ever see it any other way. I respect your right to see things how you do, but I'm just not wired to see thing your way nor are you wired to see it how I do. Edited January 22, 20179 yr by B-Ball-fan
January 22, 20179 yr @B-Ball-fan, I don't know what more I can tell you. I said the right had undesirable people who don't act sensibly. I said it's a reality for a rather large portion on the right to be labeled as depicted in posts 162 and 165. What more do you want? That's certainly not me denying anything. I also pointed out that the vast majority of those to the left here on BGP and all over the country do not fit the mold of violent, but you're dismissing that. Why? I respect your view, even when I disagree with it. It's fine we're not wired the same, I still see you as a friend, not an enemy. We may battle on issues, but I think we both respect one another. I feel the same about pretty much everyone I argue politics with on here.

I feel the same about pretty much everyone I argue politics with on here. I appreciate what you're saying here and have always found it to be unfortunate that politics can make people fuss who under normal circumstances get along just fine. I view you as a cool dude and don't and won't think of you any other way. It's not always easy to respond to others in the fashion that is completely suitable to them when presenting the points that I feel important to me. If in omitting the things that you find me dismissing is indicating a false impression of you it's not my intent. My main aim was to try to persuade you as well as remind myself to not let our biases make us paint with a broad brush, but we were both quick to see it in each other, and excuse it on ourselves. I'm cool with you, and I admire that you're good with everyone else on here. Perhaps it makes a difference to actually meet, but many here I have not, and while I do dig a lot of folks here, there are some who just by their blog appearance alone feel way too insufferable to me that makes me have serious reservations about ever meeting them. I try at times to mentally put myself in that situation and can't seem to muster in myself much other than a feeling of uneasiness. I have friends that are all over the place politically and under most situations we get along alright and especially if we stay away from too much serious talk. With some the relationship is just fine, with others it's painfully obvious that it has become forced and fake, and though I'd like to avoid hard feelings with people the writing is on the wall that we've run out of reasons to stay connected. Sometimes close friendships have been made real early in life even before you know who you really are, and who they really are. It's nice when it's a lifelong admiration that can be picked right up where it was left off because you seem to always be on the same page, but it can become uncomfortable when you realize that you're nowhere near the same page. Starting out on different pages with people is even more bizarre and can at times make me question why they heck I would put myself in that position just to feel cramped. At times I even question what the heck I'm doing here. Life is a journey to find oneself and do your best to live within the element of what you're most comfortable with. Because life is ever changing I've found that just when you think you''ve found your comfort zone the time to reevaluate seems to come knocking before you've had the chance to breath easy. The older you get and one's mortality becomes more of a concern, one can start to wonder how they might be remembered after they're gone. I've recently been trying to convince myself that you can't please everybody and no matter what others think as long as you're true to yourself you'll breath easier. Remember they'll die one day too so who gives a rat's behind what anybody thinks? It's stifling to get caught up with it, and while I might not be liked by everyone I don't go out of my way to tick anyone off, but at the end of the day my opinion, or even my impression of them is just as valid as theirs of me.

I look forward to future debates with you. So there, I'm done with my kumbaya moment.
January 23, 20179 yr If this thread is still about crowd picture size nobody has anything on Kim Jong.
January 24, 20179 yr A question for everyone ... does anyone believe that Trump had the largest inauguration day crowd ever?
