A reality for a rather large portion. I can admit what others won't allow themselves to. But, much like I said about the left, not the vast majority. Difference I see between the two is I see less violence from the ones on the right. I also don't see the mind numbingly emotionally stunted inability to cope with life or losing an election from the right.

One thing that I think that we could agree about is that one side is generally viewed as pacifist pansies while the other aggressive meatheads. If I had no choice but one or the other, I'll freely admit with no hesitation that you can sign me up with the pacifist pansies.

I would not vote for either Scott or Watts because they are black, I would vote for them because they share most of my conservative values. Besides, having a black presidential candidate ask largely black audiences what blindly supporting liberal Democrats gotten them in return would probably be much more effective than having a white, moderate Republican billionaire ask them that same question.

 

My guess is that more black people have died at the hands of white Democrats, who founded the Ku Klux Klan and resisted integration in the South, than have died at the hands of trigger happy white Republican police officers. Demonizing white Republicans (and police officers in genera) and voting for several generations of liberal Democrats to run most major cities in the country should be a very hard record to defend. The results of that strategy are in and they are not good news for minorities trapped in the poverty of our inner cities.

 

One thing that Trump did that I fault most Republican candidates for not doing was to ask in a very direct way for the support of black Americans. You cannot expect people to vote for you if you do not ask for their vote. Too many Republican candidates simply concede black votes to Democrats. I doubt that either Tim Scott or J. C. Watts would do so, but neither did Trump or Jack Kemp.

 

Agree to disagree then. I think you are underestimating the level of discontent a large majority of the black community has with the republicans. It would be an uphill battle for Tim Scott and J.C. Watts to win over the black community and the white community. It takes a special kind of black politician to do that and there is a small margin of error.

They didn't vote for Hillary enough either, otherwise we wouldn't have president Trump. Either one of them would have easily beaten Hillary.

As I said, black Republicans do win elections. Generally speaking, black Republicans do not depend on the votes of black voters to put them into office and they rarely win in majority black districts.

The family has taken a hit acrossed all races. Seemed to have hit the black community harder. No policies have been written with malice. The unitended consequences of those policies are evident. There are numerous thing that contributed to it but I'll only go into a few. The welfare system, when you reward out of wedlock child birth with a check, the more kids the bigger the check thats an issue. Meant to be a help up but its now a way of life for healthy generations of families who are trapped in poverty. I worked at a rental store when I was younger and we rented to generations living in the projects, healthy unwed mothers with children stuck and taught to live on the system. Men can have babies withought the responsibility of raising them. Why work when I can participate in this behavior and benefit with no harm or risk. This is aslo the reason for the creation ghettos and housing projects. The liberal feminist movement taught women that they don't need a man. They can be strong alone( while a great slogan, together is better). Democrats fought against every civil rights movement that ever came, but now have a change of heart and care. Tell a lie untill it becomes the truth was their philosophy. The war on drugs ( both parties) helped to unequally decimate black males and remove them from homes. Liberals railed against school choices and vouchers, why? To keep kids in failing schools and away from their children. Liberals now control school curriculums, where's the trades at? Does common core help teach how to use credit, balance a checkbook, no common sense in schools anymore. Not everyhigh paying job requires a college degree, liberals won't teach those though. Kids in those failing schools have a hard time qualifying for college. These have not helped the black community. Liberal controlled though.

While you can't say the entire number of riders were there for the march the Transit system did report that they had over 1M riders on Saturday. It was the 2nd busiest day in its history.

Many roads were shutdown because of the inauguration and the demonstrations. That results in less traffic on the road and more on the Metro. One of my sons was among that 1M because we could not drive close enough to his home to drop him off early Saturday morning. So, I agree, you cannot say that the 1M Metro riders were there for the protests.

Since there has been no black Republican president elected, none have won a national election. Tim Scott won his U.S. Senate seat in a landslide and by a larger majority than Lindsey Graham, SC's senior Senator, won his seat.
