This is where I get frustrated because I truly want to believe that you don't intentionally mean to come off as insulting as you are coming. I haven't been conditioned. I've spent my entire life building my character and persona based on life experiences. Those who know me the best know that I go against the grain on purpose to shape my thoughts and views. Was I raised in a house of democrats? Absolutely. But my family is a successful family. My father is a president of a small college in Pennsylvania. Livingston Alexander. President of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. Look him up. He is very well respected nationally in the world of education and to this day is still the smartest man I know. He left his home at the age of 13 to get a better education and make something of himself. He started off as an elementary school teacher and I watched him work his way up from there to President of a University. Long story short we have never needed handouts and we have never voted democrats for the sake of getting handouts. When statements like that are made do you really think that makes me want to rethink whether or not I want to remain a democrat? You sit there and say you hate republicans and democrats but yet your whole post is blaming democrats for the "racial division" in America. That reads like a contradictory statement. Your whole post reeks of the elitism that so many conservatives love to claim that the liberals have a lock on. If the conservatives truly want to help the black community why does the black community have to vote for them to receive that help? If they truly cared they'd go fix it on their own volition wouldn't they?

 

And again, like I said, I truly want to believe you don't mean to be as insulting as your post reads. I'm married to a white woman with a conservative, God fearing, gun clinging family. Her late grandfather was outwardly racist but did his best to act like he had some sense when I came around. Her family treats me great and we all love one another dearly. At the same time I am not going to act like I know or have a handle on how they feel and they don't act like they know or have a handle on mine. I went to a private school through 8th grade and public school through high school. I went to a Historical Black College for my freshman year of college and then went to UK for a couple of years and never graduated. You will not come across many more people with as diverse of a background that I have. I'm not bragging it is just a fact and it is something my father did by design and it has helped me succeed in life even when I have created situations for myself in which I shouldn't succeed. I had a very privileged upbringing and all of my thoughts and views that I hold after 42 years are a result from that so no, I'm not going to buy in to what you are trying to sell. I'm going to continue to buy in to what I see and feel as I always have been my whole life. My mind has been open to possibilities since the day my dad taught me how to read.

Would you say prior to this you did have faith in President Trump's truth telling capabilities?

Well, Trump has been president for going all of 2 days now, so I'll wait to see if he's polarizing and controversial on a larger level or not. I agree campaign wise, yes, without a doubt he was. Then again, so was Hillary compared to Obama. It was in office where Obama drove such a wedge compared to his predecessors.

 

16 years ago, the left couldn't accept defeat, this isn't something new. They melted down then, but over the last 16 years they have gotten less able to handle things not going their way. 16 years ago college students didn't need safe spaces with frolicking puppy videos, coloring books and Play Doh. These people are driven to this nonsense by ridiculous leftist professors, teachers and parents that tell these young people they're special and are proven so by participation trophies. They're stuck in a vacuum between adolescence and adulthood because of the village that raised them rather than the parenting they needed. Add to them, the adults that helped create them, the nutty, overly self absorbed Hollywood stars that think their opinion is the end all be all to everything and a media that does everything to push all the nonsense to seem like it should be the norm and low and behold you have what we've arrived at today. Is Trump guilty of any of it? Of course, and I completely agree he needs to be more civil as well. But let's get real, all of them combined have a lot of growing up to do, but I doubt they will be able to.

 

Surely somewhere over the years you got a dose here and there of Trump's character long before his campaign, and I'll assume that you'll agree that a cat doesn't so easily change his stripes. Who knows we may all of the sudden see a rational Donald Trump, but I'm not holding my breath.

 

Also, I realize that it's become popular (as it is tired) for the right to reach down into their bag of comments and pull out the puppy and Play Doh narrative, but are you honestly believing that this is an accurate representation of the entire left, or even the majority of it? Personally the only folks I ever heard anything about any of that was from the right, so it's safe to say that it was something magnified for the sake of ridiculing an entire body of people.

I'll assume that you read further and my explanation of my initial understanding of what the march was called, and me providing more accurate estimations.

J.C. Watts, for one, although he has been absent for politics for awhile. I would also have enthusiastically supported Tim Scott. Both are much better qualified than Obama was when he was elected.
