In his speech to the CIA, POTUS said the rain stopped when he walked out enabling him to see the 1.5 million people on the lawn, and then it poured as soon as they left the stage.

(Why the CIA needed to know this anecdote is beyond me. Seemed like a stupid thing to say in front of that wall with 117 stars on it)

The New York Times and L.A. Times are now estimating a half a million. I had originally understood that it was considered a million women march, so it looks like it was really only half of that.

 

That number included other cities where marches were held.

I thought we were discussing the protests from Inauguration Day. I'm still not sure what Women's march was. I work nights so I don't see much live tv and after the inauguration, I had no desire to watch the news l. So idk

 

The march was centralized in D.C. however there were 600 sister marches in cities all across the United States and in London. Pretty big deal, and more turned out in D.C. for this than Trump's inauguration.

That number included other cities where marches were held.

"A city official in Washington says organizers' turnout estimate for the Women's March on Washington now stands at 500,000, which is more than double their initial predictions".

 

Add that to the 600 sister marches.

Not hard at all, but what @TheDeuce was pointing out has a mouthful of validity to it as well.

 

People will let their core biases make them knee-jerkingly say anything. You don't know the true circumstances, but your bias had you go directly where it went and state it as if it were fact.

 

It's sorta like at a basketball game when you notice vividly all the opposing team's violations the entire game, but somehow never seem to notice your own team's violations one bit.

 

I'm guilty of it too, but I promise you, though I'm sure others will disagree with me, that I try my best not to flippantly keep pushing a narrative without backing it up the best that I can with truth.

 

Happens to us all. Although I'm not a Trump guy, I am a conservative and will defend it, sometimes too quickly. I get the point @TheDeuce was making, I just know how dirty and hateful partisan politics are and how much hatred there is anymore toward anyone that's not "your guy" these days. That's part of why I sounded off so quickly. I mean, look at any thread, it's ugly. It was ugly when Bush was president, it got even uglier when Obama was president. At this rate, the ugliness will surpass both before Trump reaches the one year mark. I completely blame social media. The tripe I've seen the last weeks is embarrassingly disgusting. I've never seen this level of hate. I get not liking a president because you dislike their views or whatever, but this is beyond dislike, it's pure hatred. It's evil. We have these people claiming a guy is illegitimate because they claim he's hateful, and they literally act at a level of hatred that surpasses what they're railing against by leaps and bounds. No common sense, no respect, no civility. :idunno:

CNN took its first step out of fake news post inauguration refusing to air the Spicer presser live. They just showed highlights. :lol2:

I know this will sound smug but, what does that win them? Do they think Trump will resign or something? I'm sure I'll get bashed for this but, it's more symbolism over substance. It will change nothing, but they can tell one another "you go girl" I suppose. It's a feel good exhibition that will reap no results.
