J.C. Watts, for one, although he has been absent for politics for awhile. I would also have enthusiastically supported Tim Scott. Both are much better qualified than Obama was when he was elected.

What I'm saying is that that notion been degrading greatly over the past 25 years, the proof is in the pudding. You can go look up all the out-of-wedlock births and the percentages and do all the research you want. I never said they don't care but the liberal policies have set them on the path that has destroyed the black family. I live in the real world I know what I see and deal with everyday. So you can try to mince my words but all you want to do is make a point and a job I'm trying to be real and honest and it's the truth.

First of all, the estimates of the number of people (including men, women, and children) placed the number higher than 500,000, but why quibble over an exaggeration of a half-million marchers? Second, that number undoubtedly was swollen by the radical left-wingers who descended upon Washington, DC, to protest the peaceful transition of power to newly elected President Donald J. Trump.

 

As for the women among the 500,000 attendees disagreeing with me, I think that it is safe to say that I would find little to agree with them on a wide range of political positions and the same would be true of their spouses and the brainwashed children who they exposed to the obscene rants of people like Ashley Judd.

 

While you can't say the entire number of riders were there for the march the Transit system did report that they had over 1M riders on Saturday. It was the 2nd busiest day in its history.

I would not vote for either Scott or Watts because they are black, I would vote for them because they share most of my conservative values. Besides, having a black presidential candidate ask largely black audiences what blindly supporting liberal Democrats gotten them in return would probably be much more effective than having a white, moderate Republican billionaire ask them that same question.

 

My guess is that more black people have died at the hands of white Democrats, who founded the Ku Klux Klan and resisted integration in the South, than have died at the hands of trigger happy white Republican police officers. Demonizing white Republicans (and police officers in genera) and voting for several generations of liberal Democrats to run most major cities in the country should be a very hard record to defend. The results of that strategy are in and they are not good news for minorities trapped in the poverty of our inner cities.

 

One thing that Trump did that I fault most Republican candidates for not doing was to ask in a very direct way for the support of black Americans. You cannot expect people to vote for you if you do not ask for their vote. Too many Republican candidates simply concede black votes to Democrats. I doubt that either Tim Scott or J. C. Watts would do so, but neither did Trump or Jack Kemp.

Surely somewhere over the years you got a dose here and there of Trump's character long before his campaign, and I'll assume that you'll agree that a cat doesn't so easily change his stripes. Who knows we may all of the sudden see a rational Donald Trump, but I'm not holding my breath.

 

Also, I realize that it's become popular (as it is tired) for the right to reach down into their bag of comments and pull out the puppy and Play Doh narrative, but are you honestly believing that this is an accurate representation of the entire left, or even the majority of it? Personally the only folks I ever heard anything about any of that was from the right, so it's safe to say that it was something magnified for the sake of ridiculing an entire body of people.

I think the vast majority of those on the left here on BGP and all over the country do not fit in this mold, but it's far more wide spread that you're letting on. Just look at the news, just look at our colleges, just look at a lot of these "protests".

 

As to the president, there is a reason I didn't vote for him. His character and campaign rhetoric was a good portion of it. Same for Hillary, same for Obama for me, although Obama didn't need to get into the gutter like these two did.
