They weren't trying to rush to get it off before the ready to play whistle. The clock wasn't going to start till the snap. I think Stoops wanted them to look at it to see he landed in bounds. Which is why he was still yelling at the refs. He didn't cost them 3 points there at all. The refs blew that one, the clock should have started on the ready for play whistle, which GT would have had no chance to get their field goal team and set with 1 second left.

December 31, 20169 yr Since when has UK ever had a good secondary? Literally the biggest thing said coming into the season about Kentucky was that the one strength of the defense was going to be the secondary.
December 31, 20169 yr Kentucky needs for Tech to self implode with turnovers in the 2nd half in order to have any chance. UK has spent more time complaining about low blocks than making plays defensively. Tech had the ball 5 times with 4 scores. Amazing how that so called "mickey mouse", "middle school" offense is kicking our butt. With this win 4 of the 5 teams still running the triple option will have won this bowl season with Navy being the only loss.
December 31, 20169 yr You can't challenge if a player was going OOB or not. Stoops challenging the 1st down when he clearly made it and losing the challenge and timeout stopped the clock instead of having Tech rush the kick.
