You still haven't seemed to realize him challenging didn't give them a chance to kick it. GT didn't have to rush on the field or have to try to beat the ready for play whistle. Which means his challenge didn't give them anymore time to set up for a field goal than they already had.

You really don't seem to get this done you. They ruled he got out of bounds live as soon as it happened. Which means the clock doesn't start till the snap. You seem to be a big football guy so I am sure you have DVR. How about push rewind so you can see how wrong you are. Watch it live as soon as the play happens. He catches it and the ref not only stops the clock signaling first down, he also signals he got out of bounds.

 

Then keep watching, the refs spot the ball, the chains are set the ref blows the ready for play whistle. Guess what the clock still doesn't start because he got out of bounds. Then 5 more seconds on the play clock go off, and then Stoops challenges it. There was still 20 more seconds to go on the play clock and the game clock doesn't start till the snap. So please tell me how GT wouldn't have got the kick off even if he doesn't challenge it.

Tech would not have had to rush the kick. The refs ruled him as getting out of bounds. Which means the clock was not going to start until the snap. GT wouldn't have had to rush at all. That is what Stoops was arguing is that he didn't get out of bounds, so the clock should have started as soon as the chains got set, which means GT would have had no chance to get their FG team in and set.

That's my point. It was stupid for Stoops to argue there. Georgia Tech wasn't acting like he was ruled out of bounds they rushed on the field trying to get it off quick. I don't think they knew either that they ruled him out. But they were rushing so Stoops should have let it go at the moment because there was nothing he could do about it and GT was going to rush the kick.
