December 25, 20169 yr Marvin's game management is terrible. He plays to close games like this. End of the first half. Bengals get a first down at about the 20 with 30 seconds to go. The tackle on the first down play happened in bounds so the clock is running. Call time out, right? The Bengals had a time out left. No, Marvin has them running another play. They get to the line of scrimmage, run a play, Dalton is under pressure and forced to throw the ball out of bounds with 5 seconds left. If they use the time out, they get to run three plays to try and score a TD. Instead, they kick a field goal on 2nd and 10 with 5 seconds left and go to the locker room with a time out in their pocket. That is on Marvin Lewis. He takes 7 points a game off the board by the way he manages time and plays conservative. Give the Bengals 7 more points a game and they are 10-2 right now. Give them 5 points more a game and they are 9-2-1. Give them just 3 more points a game and they are 9-5. Basically 40 seconds ran off the clock after the first play in that last drive of the first half. Doesnt even drive me nuts anymore.
December 25, 20169 yr I particularly liked the speed option call on first down on one of their final drives. I just don't understand how an option play involving Dalton and Burkhead didn't work...Solid call. On a happy note, the person I was playing in the finals of one of my fantasy leagues had Jeremy Hill playing down by 8. His donut that he put up means that I don't have to sweat today's games at all. I still have Boswell, Sanders and Ware yet to play but The Dothraki Horde has brought home the big trophy for the 3rd time in the last 7 seasons.....Thanks Bungles.
December 25, 20169 yr How come I didn't even know they were playing tonight? Maybe because this franchise sucks??? Until Lewis is gone, I will not take interest again. Maybe not even then. Makes me sad in a way since I was a huge fan for forty years. 40 years, my Lord it's a wonder you don't need a therapist!
December 25, 20169 yr Thought Dalton played extremely well with no AJ, no Eifert, no Hill, and an OLine that was very bad last night. Dalton gave them a chance to win on the road in the 4th quarter against a Division leader.

That makes the Bengals record against teams with winning records something like 1-14-1 out of their last 16 games vs teams with winning records. Dalton Sucks.
December 25, 20169 yr Texting back and forth last night during the game with my favorite Bengal fan and he summed up his thoughts on Fat Randy and his whiff to the right with one word. I won't divulge that one word, but it was spot on

Dalton actually changed the play to a speed option on that one. Dalton usually is good with his audibles, but horrible decision on that one lol.

That makes the Bengals record against teams with winning records something like 1-14-1 out of their last 16 games vs teams with winning records. Dalton Sucks. Dalton can't place-kick so the loss is in no way his fault. He actually played one of the better games of his career last night with no weapons around him and did everything he needed to do to win the game. Going into last night I believe he is third in passing yards in the AFC and his TD to INT ratio is one of the best in the conference. He is also on track to have fewest INTs in club history.
December 25, 20169 yr Dalton can't place This team has a lot of problems that need addressing before Dalton. He did not have one of his best RB's, his two best receivers (AJ and Eifert) and if you call his O line average, you are being kind. And the Bengals kicking game has been an abomination all year. His coach is also average to below average... I am not saying AD has been playing at an all pro level this year (he did last year) but he is about number 8 on the list of issues with the Bengals...
December 25, 20169 yr 40 years, my Lord it's a wonder you don't need a therapist! Therapist??? What in the hell do you mean? Between the President-Elect Trump and the Bengals I need to be living with a therapist. It's a wonder I'm not a damn nutcase. Edited December 27, 20169 yr by Jumper_Dad TOS

Would most agree our offense has been the main problem this year? Our offense in the second half of games have been down right awful, and last night was the first time in like 8 games that we scored in the 4th quarter. So Dalton does deserve his fair share of criticism this year. Qbs are suppose to help make game winning plays and most of the year he has not. Last night I didn't think he played bad, he didnt play great either. He is not the type of qb who makes others around him better, and also doesnt throw open receivers like the top qbs can do. Knowing what Daltons skill set is, last night was not a bad performance by him. We all know he has has to have a lot of talent around him for him to look real good. He actually made plays last night at the end that should have won the game. So while Dalton may not have made many mistakes this year as far as turnovers, he also hasn't made to many plays in games to help them win games. You need your qb to make game winning plays, and most of the year he has not except for last night which he made the plays in the 4th quarter finally. There is a lot of blame to go around for this year. Dalton imo is right up there with the others to blame. If we are going to praise him for success like last year, when he was making game winning plays. Then he also needs the blame when he doesnt. That's the life of a qb. Winning teams need their qbs to play well.

If that was one of his better games of his career, then it shows how horrible his career is. Still love his 1 yd passes on 3rd and long. 6 years is long enough to start beating good teams if you're so good. He still hasn't.

Keep talking about Dalton last year. Fact is he had a cake schedule last year that everyone seems to ignore. He is not a great qb. He still can't carry a team like a franchise qb should be able to do. He still loses consistently against good teams. He is not good. 6 years is plenty of time to start beating decent teams. He is only as good as AJ Green makes him look. He's proved he is not good without one of the best WRs in the game.
December 25, 20169 yr I was surprised that the defense played as well as it did without Burfict (except for that one series after the Bengals TD).
