Covington Catholic at Beechwood Predictions

Featured Replies

Saturdays game showed that Bradon needs a blow from time to time to play at the level he does on both "D" and "O", having Joe spell him from time to time is the way to go. If I were the opposing team, I would hit Bradon on each and every play requiring him to pick himself up after each play be it on the O side or the D side of the ball. Not quite sure that he can last not only each game doing that, but I worry if he is strong enough to take the hits over the course of the season (remember he didn't play on the O side last year, or at least, not very much).... Going both ways against the competition that CovCath plays each week will be tough if Brandon is getting the number of plays on both sides of the ball that he got this week.......I am very much concerned about what kind of shape he will be in by the last game of the regular seaosn.....

Joe is such a pleasure to watch when he gets the ball in his hands and not only does he feel, but so do the fans, that he can score each time he does get that ball in his hands. I would love to see him on the "O" side of the ball, with Josh throwing him either a screen pass, or hitting him coming out of the back field. I also would use Joe as a decoy faking a reverse, as the "D" with him in the backfield, would have to have a man or two follow him at all times........ Is there really any reason why Joe is not playing on the "O" side of the ball.....Any reason at all????? Anyone???

I agree, Joe would be lethal on the Offensive side of the ball!

You will definitely see him soon, does'nt look like he's ready for this week since he has'nt played on the offensive side of the ball in 4 years and does'nt know any of the playbook. But word is he'll be ready for next week at St. X :dancingpa

Hopefully the Beechies have improved on run defense. There wasn't much of it when they scrimmaged Highlands. The Team From Park Hills 42-7

Just my opinion, but I would NOT debut him over there (on offense) in that game.

This is going to be a fun game to watch. I'm going with Cov. Cath in this one but feel it should be a pretty good battle.

Both teams are real good defensively so I'm predicting the game will come down to special teams. Both excel at that as well, but I'll have to give the edge to CCH. They win a close game 10-6.

Beechwood has given up less than 120 yards rushing in all 3 games combined so far . . . . . . . . would you consider that "improved"?.

On that note--Alter jumped up to number in D3 in the state of Ohio after their win over Beechwood. Alter ran the ball 90% of the time--and Beechwood gave up less then 70 yards/3 points (to the offense) . . . . . sometimes--it doesn't matter where you start--but it does matter how you finish up.

Do you think the Beechies can maintain their defensive average and hold CovCath to less than 40 yards rushing?

Now that's a pretty specific prediction re: six of the Colonel's points. If the game is not close, it goes CovCath's way.

:p Gotta go big. If it happens I look like a genius... if not - people will shrug it off. Kinda like George Mason going to the final four.

On another note, I would not debut Joe C at St. X either, the Dixie game would have been perfect.

Hopefully CCH can play Beechwood somewhat as effectively as Kettering "DeLaSalle" Alter. :thumb: ;)

I have absolutely no idea . . . . . . . . . . I do think that anyone that is predicting a complete and utter blowout has no clue or understanding about the game of football . . . . . .

Alter doesn't have the offense that Cov Cath has--it is different--and extremely strong for what they do--but to stop it--was an accomplishment. Regardless of the "De LaSalle" comments . . . . . . . as I said before--there MAY be one team in NKY that could beat Alter. I have seen enough football to know that it is extremely close to fact (meaning--I am 99.9% sure).

I am merely stating facts. It is what it is . . . . . . . and nothing more.

The CovCath faithful are looking for a good game. It is a few fans of other teams calling for the wider margins.

I look for a competitive game and hope CovCath can muster some points against the Beechwood defense.
