Covington Catholic at Beechwood Predictions

If that coaching staff has been watching this team the last couple of years and "didn't even discuss Joe playing offense until this week in practice" then that tells me all I need to know. I certainly hope CCH has a back-up for Brandon that has actually touched the ball before now.

My point on the St. X game is this: Joe should have been getting some spot time on "O" all along, most agree on that. However, he wasn't. His first game action on that side may come with some hesitation, especially considering it'll be new to him and I doubt he'll be 100% comfortable over there yet. That, to me, at the #9 team in America, smells like disaster. Now if you're suggesting a couple of special plays to get him some touches in that game, fine, but as the back-up running back -- I'd pass. That game means nothing to this season, and I think the risk outweighs the reward. If #20 needs some breaks, which I'm sure he will, let Deters carry the mail and get Joe 100% comfortable with the plays (remember, this team doesn't huddle, so learning on the fly can be a challenge) and ready for the home game with Watterson (another game that means very little to the season by the way, except to try and exorcise some demons from last year's debacle).

Not understanding why everyone getting there panties in a wad over this one. I happen to agree with you, I too have no idea why Joe C has'nt played O before now and yes the fact is it has not been brought up before now, not last year, and not this year until this past week is amazing to me also. This does answer allot of questions about the staff as far as I'm concerned, how you have the fastest guy in the school who also probably the best athelete only touch the ball on kickoffs and punts I have no idea. The last time I remembered you get the best atheletes the ball as often as you can get it, 4 or 5 times a game on returns is not enough.

As far as who it's against does it really matter, none of the next 3 games mean anything in the AAA standings and do nothing to hurt the team. Put him in when he's ready !!!!

On this I think nearly all CCH fans would agree with you 100%. :thumb: :thumb:

"Beechwood has allowed just 125 passing yards in three games - quite an accomplishment for a Class A team that has played bigger schools each week. Against the run, the Tigers have given up 117 yards per game."

Beechwood has given up less than 120 yards rushing in all 3 games combined so far . . . . . . . . would you consider that "improved"?.

Quick, did you mean the Beechies have given up less that 120 yards passing or rushing? Maybe the paper got it wrong?

I saw that as well . . . . . . .

I am not going to say that the paper is at fault--but there could have been some miscommunication on how many games that 117 yards covers . . . . .
