Trinity 56 Lafayette 21 - 6A State Championship

Featured Replies

All the favorites are winning so far. I'm hoping Danville can buck the trend tomorrow.

Very much so (chalky)

Lafayette put up some points this season. Trinity held them to 7 and 21. The next lowest total was 40 against Boone Co.

Is Jay Cobb still the DC at Trinity

Ive been watching these games since '85. Other than 3 or 4 times (You are dead on).

That won't change either. Just a different world for them compared to the public schools.

Believe so.

Absolutely. But, we still need to keep plugging.

All you General and Shamrock fans---be safe driving home.

Believe so.

He did a great job at Somerset back in the day on defense. Glad to see him back in ky after his short stint in Texas.

That game will be remembered for the penalties, many properly called and then a coach has to control his team. You can pretend all you want about this and that, but the lack of sportsmanship and the end of the game fiasco is what will be remembered, and that is the shame of it.

According to the announcers Lafayette refused to shake hands.

Lafayette player punched white hat ref. And they didn't Shake hands.WOW

Wow... I knew Lafayette was undisciplined, but this is a whole new level of poor sportsmanship.

Somebody needs to get that program under control,

I think it's safe to say the contract won't be renewed

If you were Trinity, why would you? No competition and a team with no discipline. Lose-lose.

I agree 100%. Need to get Cincinnati and Indy teams back on the schedule. Might get MBA again.

WORST OFFICIATING EVER.

Read part of the update thread and will read the rest later. For the record this is the first game this year that Trinity has had helmets come off during play. Hands to the face will make that happen.

Unfortunately Trinity fell into Lafayette's trap. Refs only see retaliation.

3 of the crew were from Ashland. It was obvious that they had never worked a game of this caliber before. They totally lost control.

That's always the challenge. They try to make sure the refs are unbaised but at what cost?? The way 6A teams play football in lexington and Louisville is just too much to not put a ref that has experience in that position.

Lafayette was very undisciplined but I expected Trinity to be more classy than they were. I mean some of things I've seen and been told were very tasteless. Congrats on the win but it should've stayed classier than it was.
