November 3, 20169 yr Only game all year where I have watched every pitch! I enjoyed it. Now on to basketball season!
November 3, 20169 yr If Theo is looking for another franchise to bring back to life, he can come on down to Cincinnati.Easy. Let's not get carried away, I mean the man isn't a miracle worker.
November 3, 20169 yr Congrats @00Rocket28 . As much as I hate the Cubs I'm happy you get to experience this.
November 3, 20169 yr Only game all year where I have watched every pitch! I enjoyed it. Now on to basketball season! Same with me. I rarely watch baseball anymore. However, prior to the 1994 strike I watched it a lot, usually made several trips yearly from eastern Kentucky to see the Reds, and kept up with the baseball news in both leagues. This series and the long suffering Cubs victory may recharge my inner baseball batteries for the future.
November 3, 20169 yr Couldn't get on the computer at all last night, too nervous. And, unfortunately, my worst fears came true last night. But, hats off to the Cubs for making the plays when they had to. And congratulations to @00Rocket28 and all the other true blue, die-hard Cubs fans, you guys deserve it. Cleveland had their opportunities last night, and for the most part, didn't cash in. And, then the rain delay happened at the worst time for them, and probably the best for the Cubs. It gave Chicago time to take a deep breath, regain their composure and come back out strong. Kudos to Francona for trying to win a series with basically one starter and three relievers. Unfortunately, it usually doesn't bode well when you give a team like the Cubs that many looks at the same guys over a span of a week and a half. It'll be a hard pill to swallow with a lot of the "what if's" that Cleveland had. The lone bright spot for me with the Cubs win, is that Ross gets a ring. Like others on here, have always liked the guy. Glad he was able to go out on top, not only individually (with the homer) but with his team.
November 3, 20169 yr I wouldn't be too proud about that. Missed a ton of strikes tonight Quit your whining. He was 100% consistent.
November 3, 20169 yr Easy. Let's not get carried away, I mean the man isn't a miracle worker. Red Sox and Cubs?
November 3, 20169 yr Highest rated game 7 since 2001. Looking like HUGE ratings. Did it beat the NBA Game 7 Finals?
November 3, 20169 yr Man, I've not been to bed yet. Just keep watching all the post game stuff over and over. Taking it all in, and can't stop smiling, and getting misty eyed. When they tied it up, I was darn near in a full blown panic. I literally thought "they really are cursed". Then the rain came and I was like, this can only help us slow their momentum. Schwarbs is just a bad dude and was the difference maker. No doubt letting the AL have homefield actually benefited us more. When Zobrist drove in the go ahead, followed by Miggy's RBI, I was fighting back tears. I just loved this team. Super happy for Zobrist. Dude grows up a Cub fan in Illinois and is the MVP for the Cubs when they finally win it all? Doesn't get any better than that. I love how genuine Rizzo was, the dude is just a big kid. Ross and his HR. Man just so many amazing storylines. The rain delay played an important role but as a life-long Indians fan I don't begrudge the Cubs a long-overdue world series victory. Congratulations! I love your enthusiasm as a real fan, Rocket.
November 3, 20169 yr Budweiser just ran a great vintage commercial with Harry Carry it was great! Agree. I thought it was the perfect time.
November 3, 20169 yr Looking like HUGE ratings. Did it beat the NBA Game 7 Finals? Yes, by quite a bit actually.
November 3, 20169 yr Had the fortune of watching the game with a good friend who is a die hard Cub fan. It was fun to see the reaction!
November 3, 20169 yr If Theo is looking for another franchise to bring back to life, he can come on down to Cincinnati. Easy. Let's not get carried away, I mean the man isn't a miracle worker. I know it would be a pipe dream but it would be interesting to see what he could do with a small market team budget.
