November 3, 20169 yr Yes, by quite a bit actually. Wow. Honestly that surprises me but with the Cubs story line I guess it makes sense.
November 3, 20169 yr Good for them. I don't watch baseball anymore but I grew up watching Grace, Sandberg and Dawson...listening to Harry Carey. Glad to see them break the streak
November 3, 20169 yr I got an alert from Bleacher Report and it said last nights game was the most watched baseball game in over 25 years Edited November 3, 20169 yr by 00Rocket28
November 3, 20169 yr The goat is now officially freaking dead. Harry Carry deserved to see this. Really good article. Chicago Cubs fans celebrate Game 7 victory but mourn those who missed out
November 3, 20169 yr Author Long time Cubs fan. Hated Harry Caray. People like Ernie Banks, Ron Santo, Don Zimmer, and Jack Brickhouse deserve a seat ahead of Harry in my opinion. The Cubs were never going to shed the 'lovable loser' label as long as he was calling games. Jack Brickhouse was 10 times better an announcer and 1,000 times more professional.
November 4, 20169 yr The ball is estimated to be worth $1M to $3M. Rizzo will either keep it or auction it off for his foundation. He did the same thing with the ball from the final out against the Dodgers. Love the way Rizzo plays the game.
November 4, 20169 yr For any athlete who's missed most or all of a season, you gotta be happy for Schwarber. From someone who missed an entire season after an injury in the first game, I felt so sorry for Schwarber as the team did magical things. I'm sure he felt left out and had he not played, the ring would've been a constant reminder of him not being able to contribute. So glad he played such a huge role after missing the year. I'm sure it made him feel like he was a part of the team again.
November 6, 20169 yr Bill Murray, Rizzo, Fowler, and Ross sing "Go , Cubs, Go" on SNL. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YreZRQupCYk
November 7, 20169 yr Congrats to the Cubs. It was a long time coming. It was a great comeback and a great 10th inning. It took a lot of focus to play 3 elimination games in the World Series. It was also amazing that they won it all by winning 3 away games. Unbelievable series. Congrats to the Indians as well. I don't know if any other team in the MLB could have accomplished what they did in the playoffs this year. Just for reference, imagine the Cubs playing without Arrieta, Lester, and Bryant. I don't think they even beat the Giants. Here is hoping they can end their drought soon as well.
November 7, 20169 yr Cubs are already the favorite in Vegas to repeat. I think now that the pressure of 108 years is off, we should see the Cubs win another in the next few years.
