What's Your Go-To Aftershave or Cologne?

Featured Replies

Cologne's bother my sinuses. I couldn't imagine wearing one. I am not attaching any kind of stigma to it one way or the other, I just don't like them.

Although @Bert had a good suggestion with Hoppe's #9. :lol2:

I use one called Holler Back! Buy it by the jug off Craigslist from a guy in Harlan county. Smells great and don't taste half bad either.

REAL Man's Cologne.

That's right, none of that sissie, pretty boy stuff. Lol

Not sure what that's all about. I suppose that it's Tom's signature final touch, and I'm guessing too that the purchase of the product comes out of his pocket.

I was just noting that when Jerry cuts my hair, I don't remember him ever using it. I have no idea who pays for it as I think Jerry is Tom's employee rather than business partner. It's going to be a pain to find another guy as good as Tom when he finally retires.

Always though this stuff smelled pretty good back in the day.

John Varvatos-"Artisan". I also rotate Lacoste "Red" which I've had for years, and L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme "Intense". I don't wear cologne on a daily basis...only on nights out. I am looking to add something new to the mix.

As far as aftershave, I don't use it. I only shave once or twice a week.

That is the other cologne I use! Thanks for the assist.

I alternate so i can smell them:

Burberry

Polo Blue

Joop

Yves St. Laurent

and a couple more. I get them for gifts, and they last a long time.

I think she wanted PIE.

I don't recall Jerry ever using it on me either. I can't say for certain what their arrangement is but though Tom is the sole owner of the business I don't believe that Jerry is actually considered a paid employee of his but rather a renter of a chair and gets to keep either all or a portion of what he takes in per customer he services.

I don't know what Jerry's future plans are but it seems like it would only make sense that he'd buy the business from Tom whenever he decides to hang it up considering that he already has a customer base in place.

I agree that it's going to suck when Tom stops, but it appears to be inevitable. I forget now just how long Jerry has been there, but I have noticed quite an improvement from him since he first started. If he did take over he'd obviously need to find a partner because people would get irritated having to wait too long.

Other than Tom's great haircuts, his flavorful conversations will sadly be missed when he goes. Good luck to Jerry finding someone who can fill those shoes. Tom is one of a kind.

I used to wear this some. And what's even better, you can drive nails with that bottle when you're done. If you drop in on your foot, it's the ER for you.
