November 2, 20169 yr If Chapman gets into game 7, I sit there with my bat on my shoulder till he throws two strikes. He will be all over the place.
November 2, 20169 yr Only 3 pitchers have won 3 games in a Series. Burdette Gibson Lolich Mickey Lolich was the last to do it. Along with him... Corey Kluber of Cleveland Indians could become first pitcher since Mickey Lolich to win 3 World Series starts The only others to win three World Series starts were Charles "Deacon" Phillippe of Pittsburgh and Bill Dinneen of the Boston Americans in 1903; the New York Giants' Christy Mathewson (1905); the Philadelphia Athletics' Jack Coombs (1910); Pittsburgh's Babe Adams (1909); Cleveland's Stan Coveleski (1920); Milwaukee's Lew Burdette (1957); and Cincinnati's Bob Gibson (1967). Arizona's Randy Johnson beat the New York Yankees in a pair of World Series starts in 2011, then won Game 7 with 1⅓ innings of relief, a day after throwing 104 pitches over seven innings to win Game 6. Boston's Smoky Joe Wood (1912), Urban Faber of the Chicago White Sox (1917) and the Cardinals' Harry Brecheen (1946) each also won a pair of starts and once in relief in a World Series.
November 2, 20169 yr Author "Cincinnati's Bob Gibson"??? Man, I'm really getting old...my memory is completely different.
November 2, 20169 yr Another defensive play by Heyward. Miss him as a Brave.Watch him hit, that feeling will go away.
November 2, 20169 yr I love this series getting to game 7. The Cubs get a third look at Kluber in a little over a week. This is where baseball becomes chess. There will be a game within a game in how Kluber pitches to the Cubs lineup. How does he mix things up and keep the Cubs hitters off balance?
November 2, 20169 yr Kluber vs. Hendricks. Cubs will more than likely have Lackey and Lester in the pen in case they need them.
November 2, 20169 yr Please God make this happen tonight: Charlie Sheen on Twitter: "FEAR NOT, "BELIEVE"LAND!! My bag is packed, and help is on the way!! ©99 ? #GetMeVaughn https://t.co/5jVTE1zKbX"
November 2, 20169 yr Watch him hit, that feeling will go away. Eh he wasnt that bad, i watched BJ Upton for a couple years.
November 2, 20169 yr Gonna be a long stressful day today/tonight. I didn't sleep well and I'm already anxious.
November 2, 20169 yr Author Gonna be a long stressful day today/tonight. I didn't sleep well and I'm already anxious. Don't worry, you got this in the bag. No way Kluber gets them three times in a little over a week. This was my biggest fear about it going 7...the longer it went, the more it favored the Cubs. Cleveland needed to win it in game 5.
November 2, 20169 yr The Cubs may indeed win it. No way I would say they have it in the bag. The Tribe is exactly where they were hoping they would be when this thing started. Going into game 7 with Kluber on the mound and the 3 bullpen aces rested. Yes this is Kluber's third start, but his pitch count has been very low (88 & 81). He won't even have to throw that many tonight if Francona doesn't want him to. I've said it before, the guy is a machine. I expect him to come out and take care of business, then turn it over to the pen.
November 2, 20169 yr The key to the game will be those first few innings. In Game 6 of the NLCS, most thought Kershaw would run things, and the Cubs got on him early. If they can do the same tonight to Kluber, then the bullpen aces won't matter as much. But the longer the game goes without the Cubs getting a lead (and especially if they fall behind), the harder it will be to envision a Cubs title.
