It was a horrible no call but Ohio State should know better than to play down to the level of its competition.

One question I have if Ohio State defeats Michigan to end the season and Nebraska doesn't run the table will the Big 10 even get a team in the playoff?

 

Provided OSU doesn't lose again the winner of OSU-Michigan will be in the playoffs, provided they win the Big Ten championship game.

Automatic first down though. It was a terrible no call but doesn't excuse what's going on, on offense. On BGP last week I said he needs to replace the offensive coaches, if some random guy can see it... come on Urb.

I decided to wait until the Bengals won today to comment on this game. But I can't say I didn't see this coming. I'm stubborn and believe Ohio State and Urban Meyer can do no wrong, but clearly I was blinded. The offensive line is the worst line Urban has had at Ohio State. Besides Elflein, the rest is garbage right now. Isaiah Prince and Jamarco Jones are playing awful right now. They get beat off the ball every snap. But there are things you can do to hide a poor offensive line and they aren't doing it. In the 4th quarter why did Warriner not call a screen pass to Samuel? Keep the d line honest. Also they run the option far too often I really don't see what Ed and Tim see with that play. The receivers have failed to develop and I think they need to just accept the fact that Dontre Wilson and Curtis Samuel are their best recievers outside of NB. The ball needs to be in Curtis Samuels hands 20 times a game. Anything less is a travesty. JT is playing fine. Not great, but fine. His receivers provide no downfield threats right now. But speaking of downfield threats that was CLEARLY pass interference. But I won't get into that because they shouldn't have been in the situation for that play to matter. The D played pretty well outside of 2 drives. You cannot let Penn State get any momentum going into the half. Then you can't let Penn State score the touchdown to cut the game to 3 points. Marathon Lattimore cannot let them complete that play downfield. The pass was looped downfield and he has plenty of time to bat it away or even intercept it but he was late to react and let them complete the pass. This is where I disagree with a previous poster. They simply didn't want it as much as Penn State did last night and that play proved it. But my biggest takeaway from the game last night is something has to be done with the coordinators on offense. They are handcuffing JT and they just aren't good play callers. Like JA said Zeke was right last year and nothing has changed since. I don't care if they come back and win the NC this year Urban needs to make a change. Personally I'm rooting for Oregon to get rid of Helfrich and Urban hire him on as OC. But that's probably pretty high thinking. But as far as playoff chances go, nothing has changed. Beat Michigan and the rematch with Wisconsin and you are in. But I'm not feeling as confident about the next 2 games as I was 24 hours ago. But maybe this will spark them like the MSU game last year. One can only hope. I'm planning to be at the Nebraska and Michigan games so hopefully (for my sanity) they turn it around. But I'm not going to lie, I'm really upset with the performance last night. Reminded me of the Tressel years and those were painful.

You have no idea what some of those losses to Purdue and Wisconsin can do to the psyche of a person. Basically the same thing as last night. Would lose a heartbreaker where the Buckeyes played like crap and would cost themselves a shot at the NC. (I guess you do know now with the UofL loss at Clemson) But Terrelle Pryor was my dude and the fact that Tressel was never able to get him to a NC game killed me. The Tressel years weren't the Cooper years by any stretch (where Ohio State could've been the team of the 90's but kept losing to a hated neighbors to the north) but the loss to Urban and Florida was so frustrating because even though we got our butts kicked, OSU probably wins that game 6/10 (or at least I feel they would). But I'm sure you could ask the other Buckeye fans on here about the Tressel years and they would give you some of the same. He was conservative to a fault, he let every team stick around and was fine squeaking out 3 point wins against inferior teams. I know it sounds crazy to say the Tressel years are painful, but we have insanely high expectations at Ohio State and Tressel failed to meet those time and time again.

Honestly, I hate nothing more than a person who was not on the field during one single play, who states that the boys didn't want it more or acted like they didn't want it it. Trust me......These boys WANT EVERY game! The game plan and execution wasn't in their favor and they got out played for the win. I'm not an OSU alumni or fan but I simply saw them get outplayed tonight by another DI team. It happens, don't say the boys didn't want it, because it takes more than 22 offensively and defensively to win a game. Out planned, out planned equals a loss. blame can can go many directions, pick your poison., but I trust that that boys want to win EVERY game!

#1)I am an OSU football fan, an honest OSU football fan. I praise them when they play well and I will blast them when they don't. I posted that right after the loss, I was very mad and admit that I hadn't given myself time to cool down.

#2) Yes, they got outplayed, and they shouldn't have. OSU played Terrible. I don't sugar coat or baby sit for them. Should you want to for the "boys" then by all means do so and unlike you, I won't criticize you for your opinion.

#3 and Most of all) . I don't "Hate" (as you put it) anyone for expressing their opinion. After all, opinions ..that's what bgp is all about. I Disagree with some opinions and others disagree with me (and believe me, there's a lot on here that can't stand OSU and disagree), that's fine.

4) Yes, I fully realize the "boys" want to win, of course they do but those "boys" are over 18, are not high school kids or minors and I am sure that they have heard a lot worse. Should you read much ncaa football and basketball post on here then you will read more criticism than I posted about player, teams (In bb season, I am a U.K. Fan and if you don't like criticism then don't read the college bb / UK threads, just say'n :lol2:). ...
