Yes. My question was why not wait it out? Other teams did and finished their games last night and it appears that is what Lafayette wanted to do.

 

Mayfield/Marshall just played til 12:16 am a few weeks ago....no reason they couldn't wait this out.

Plato, if these remarks are properly attributed, I am sad. IMO Scott Co. cannot make this work for them. They arrange for completion or they forfeit. If they forfeit it is worse for the players than an on field loss would be. I will be shocked and disappointed if Coach McKee actually used this logic attributed to him.

Boyle County/Lafayette played until 1am in Week 1 at Boyle County.

Yeah I feel bad for the players....if this thing ends anywhere but on the field that's a tough break win or lose. It's not like it's two small schools that don't have the funds and resources to make this thing happen. I wouldn't want to win or lose that way.

Whatever happened to..."whatever time, whatever place" chip on the shoulder attitudes that championship teams all have. I think the Cardinals just had that raizor's edge that distinguishes the good teams from the champions dulled a little bit.

Was the SC decision not to resume made by administrators that didn't know it would generate a forfeit? Were the administrators overwhelmed by the logistics of scheduling busses to travel 20 miles to Lafayette on such short notice?

Isn't it the athletic directors job to know it would result in a forfeit?

I thought I read that they had to start the clock for lightning again (30 minutes starts over with each lightning strike) after the teams had already had 75 minutes in delay.

 

LexCath/Madison Central came out of lightning delay after 11:00 last night.

Is there a certain amount of time that a game has to be completed in?

Not for sure, but I do know all games must start before 11:00 AM.

I posted the radar at the time the game was called on twitter last night. They should have waited it out and finished the game.
