GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL!

Hit the nail on the head here. There has been a misconception since this thing broke out that SC was "scared" -and chose not to play the game. After close to 2 hours of waiting on the lightning the administration and HC decided to send the kids home. Lafayette made no offer of neutral site until the day after. SC is certainly very capable of beating Lafayette and was backing down from nobody in my eyes. We could see a potential rematch in the Semifinals in Lexington if both teams get there.

It will not phase SC at all, you guys obviously have no idea what kind of motivator and coach McKee is. The question may be flipped the other way, can Lafayette be satisfied with a 1-0 win. Will that make them happy. I say maybe their fans but not anyone else in the program. A push to rematch will be in the cards for both coaches moving forward.

I completely disagree. They can have an "us against the world" view moving forward... especially if they meet up w Lafayette again.

Never heard a successful coach, and I think we can all agree that McKee is near the top of that list, ever...ever...ever talk to his Team about anything less than give all you've got and NEVER QUIT. If SC wanted to finish the game on Saturday, it would have happened, somewhere and sometime. Challenges to finish it? Yes. Insurmountable problems? Absolutely, not.

I agree, somehow this game could have finished.

It would be pretty lousy to happy about winning a game that you were losing. Its also pretty dumb to say SC was scared of a ream they were beating. This rematch might get ugly in Scott Countys favor.

I don't think either team is afraid of the other. I'm pretty sure the guys on both teams wanted to settle it on the field.

 

The lesson to be learned here is that you don't walk off of your own field, leaving the other one behind, and declare yourself the winner over the PA system. Clearly both sides were not in agreement about how to proceed. Find a way to mover forward mutually, or just call the game with the results undecided.

Unfotunately, not the rule. Accordingly KHSAA made the only ruling possible. Simple, straight forward, done deal. Sure hope they meet again in the playoffs.
