Highlands vs. Elder

Featured Replies

cshs81, it wasn't the kids being loud, it was the band... after the band got told to shut it down, then the Elder fans got loud, not before...

Really, has anyone seen a Referee tell a High School Band to stop playing (and again, it is against the rules) at a high school football game? Anyone? And this happened three times....so he (referee) must have realized what they were doing and why......

I would love to be the fly on the wall in the principal office at Elder on Monday morning when he either pats the band director on the back, or tells him he embarrassed the school by showing such poor sportmenship......

cshs81 I have no problem at all with the kids getting loud, but the band to purposely play to interrupt the other team is a bit much. If you find it is OK for the band to do this, them Colonels Crazies to go out and purchase 505 air horns for yourselves to have and unleash such a noise that it will make everyone in the stands at Saturdays game against Dixie deaf when Dixie has the ball.....

The band was "rude", period! It should not have happended, and tell me where in NKY football, it would have.

:thumb: Agreed!
Male put a bunch in the box and HHS seemed to put a few points on the board??

One problem: Male has never been known for their defense.

I.

The coach's quote dealt with the fans being loud. Correct?

Highlands' passing has to improve greatly from the Connor game for the Birds to have a chance. Otherwise, Elder will key on Kramer to try to shut down the Birds' O. Since I won't be able to get a ticket, it would be nice to listen to Elder radio 1050 AM give accounts of many Highlands TD's and a win. Saturday, one of them said that if they beat Highlands, Elder will be #1 in N. Ky.

I think it's just the fact that he was condoning the behavior of the band and fans -- especially in light of the negative reports we're hearing about some of their fans' actions.

You may be guilty of reading into his quote, BF. The fans were very loud AFTER the band was shut down.

My original point (regardless of his intent) was that it was a little hard to read his accolades toward the Elder fans after reading how disruptive they were.

Leatherneck hit the nail on the head! Execution, Execution & Execution.

Sounds like CCHS lost on this period.

Go Birds Go & Stay mentally strong.

I do like the Birds in this one for a couple of reasons.

1) Highlands home field advantage is worth 7 pts.

Sorry, I am a little rusty. 2) The percentages just say its Dales turn to finally beat Ramsey and the Panthers, both OH coaching series and KY series.3) I believe HHS speed will be too much for Elder. I like the Birds in a dandy 10-7.

This Elder team is the type of team the Birds usually struggle with. Big and strong. I really don't think that Elder is all that slow either, their defense swarms to the ball. The Panther defensive front is big and active, allowing the lb's to sit back and watch the play develop before commiting to stop the run or droping back into pass coverage.

The old guy is not happy about Elder fans and band, ccath lost build a bridge get over it. Highlands will put it on them (as much as I hate too say it) birds by double digits.

Sounds like play action and QB draw will be the ticket then if that is the case. You know from experience that Dale also has some of those goofy tricks up his sleeve if needed.

I haven't been tracking football as much as I used to. Is that game in Ft. Thomas finally? Yeah im sure thats great for the Birds but I never really have been to that place and seen it rocking.... I know its a smaller stadium. Majority of the crowd seems to be adults. Heck the loudest ive seen it get is against CCH when those idiots (hope I dont offend anyone) in the student section do the Florida State tomahawk chop, when their team in no way or form respresents anything to do with a seminole or FSU for that matter.

If its in Ft. Thomas that place will be off limits anywhere within miles of the school. I remember back at Boone CO when Elder came to Florence, they were in our parking lot tailgating at 4:30. It was crazy!
