Highlands vs. Elder

Featured Replies

I would rather play the Elder offense of the first half when the QB for Elder couldn't throw it within 5 yards of his intended target than the second half when the QB looked pretty sharp.

Good luck to the team From Ft. Thomas, and I hope you beat them.....

If I were Ramsey, I would use the RB #38 more. He came in a couple of times in the 3rd and 4th quarters and can really motor, can't understand why he wasn't playing more. Also I would get the ball into the hands of the TE/WR #9 more also. He was a player....

Elders D really flies to the ball. I realized that the Ft. Thomas team is really really quick, but when one Elder player hits you, it seems that within a nanosecond, three more are hitting you also...

As I said before, good luck guy's and play that Band music really, really loud when Elder has the ball, anywhere on the field.:thumb:

Yeah, it made me sick to read the comments in today's paper from Elder's coach. Great sportsmanship.

Elder's O will be much, much improved from yesterday to Friday. O's generally are behind D's at the beginning of the season. Add to that yesterday was Elder's first game. QB seemed to have jitters in the first half but calmed down in the second half and was much more accurate. I think he'll start off Friday like he ended yesterday. Highlands db's and outside lb's better come to play some pass defense. They will be the key to this game in my opinion.

Having said that, the rest of the components better also be on their game. All cylinders must fire for us to have a chance to win. Elder is beatable, but if anyone thinks we can win just going through the motions, they are nuts. Yesterday, CC played one of the best games I have ever seen them play other than the turnovers. I was impressed.

Well Birds, its up to you to win for N. Ky and its time to make a statement as to just how good this year's team is. As stated in another post, this game will be one based on preparedness and mental focus. Go over that scouting report so many times, you can see it in your sleep. Focus on your blocking assignments. Make sure of the snap count. Do the little things. Be ready and mentally sharp and the rest of things will work out. You have the depth and athleticism to compete with these guys. You know that.

Nope...........Only for real birds fans....:p :p

You didn't honestly think I was asking for myself did you.. A Couple friends of mine with kids at Elder looking for a few extras tickets. Let me know if you come across any..:p :p

I think Highlands has to establish some sort of air attack, or at the least, a threat of it. Kramer is obviously better than either CCH back (and world's faster), but I still don't think HHS will be able to move the ball all that effectively on the ground unless Elder has to play you honest. If HHS can get anything from Cecil in the air, they can win this game. If Elder can put 8 or 9 guys in and around the box and load up on the run, Kramer may find it hard sledding.

I for one will be rooting hard for the Bluebirds this week to do what CovCath was unable to -- shut the GCL up.

I think elder learned alot from this game. When they come out against highlands they will use their wr more and especially the tightend. Ill take elder 28-21

The fans chipped in by disrupting the Colonels in a pair of late red zone opportunities.

"Our fans did a great job," Elder coach Doug Ramsey. "That's the way it was two and three years ago, where our fans make a difference in the game. They did that today."

After the Panthers took a 13-3 lead with 9:40 to go in the game, CovCath drove 65 yards to the 10-yard line, directly in front of the Elder cheering section and band. After the referees silenced the band for playing loudly, the cheering section turned up its own volume. The Colonels committed two false-start penalties on their first two plays from the 10.
