North Laurel/Louisville Western Updates

North Laurel drove down to the LW 3 yard line on their opening drive behind a nice pass play from Wardrup to Cornett and a huge run from Chris Maggard. Then near the goal line, the Jags fumbled the ball away.

 

Western scored a few plays later on an 83 yard TD run by Ronnie Darden.

Western has a couple of penalties, then on 3rd and long, NL's Tyler Pennington picked off a Western pass.

 

Jags go 3 & out with a few penalties of their own.

 

Darden returns the Jags punt to the NL 15 yard line. First play of series and of the 2nd quarter, Western scores on a TD run (didn't catch the number or name). PAT no good

Justin Collins punches in a 1 yard TD run to extend the Western lead.

The Jags put together a nice drive off the running of Chris Maggard and the arm of Adrian Wardrup to score their first TD of the game on a 1 yard Maggard rush. The PAT is blocked

Really hoped the Jags would bounce back. Hate to see a pretty good team let the season go down the drain. Bring us some good news.

At the end of the half, Soph Kevin Baer for NL came up with a big INT (his 2nd of the season), but the Jags couldn't convert. At the beginning of the 2nd quarter, the Jags started by recovering an onside kick. Had another nice run by Maggard, but Wardrup's pass intended for Cam Cornett in the end zone was picked off by Western's Justin Collins. Western has the ball and if they want to get the momentum back in this one, they need to stay with the ground game. So far they have been picked twice by the Jags secondary.
