Hope this isn't true. Mercer will be looking for a new coach in two years (after Treyvon leaves). Maze would have shown that he's always looking for the next best coaching job, and Turley, while a good coach, has hopped from job to job. 11 stops in 34 years.

 

It isn't true. Maze isn't leaving Taylor County for Mercer County.

Kurt Young is legit. Andre Mahorn is legit. I've heard rumblings of a coach currently coaching at another high school that is interested in the job and I have heard the name Roscoe Denny.

 

 

I can't vouch for any other names mentioned in this thread but the ones that I have listed are people I have heard about.

 

Coach Denny was in very poor health last year.

I DID NOT say Coach Cook didn't have quality assistants. He's no dummy. He took them with him!

Just heard a few minutes ago a college asst coach or former head coach in the NKY area. He didn't remember the name, but one comes to mind that fits that description. Anyone heard that?

I was told Josh Hamlin is trying to get it. Ironically, Cook fired him from last year's staff. He may stand a chance since he is already employed in the district.

I heard Hamlin just went with the girls program. If he did get fired by Cook, I wonder if that will have any impact on their decision regarding his efforts to get the job.
