Yes. That is exactly what has happened. It's no coincidence that South Warren is a top notch football program overnight and that Warren Central's program has gone downhill in a major way in the same time frame. I think it is a shame what has happened to Warren Central. Hopefully they will recover and become the Warren Central I knew in my younger days.

It hurt football more than the rest but I think it has hurt Warren Central in every aspect. Academics, athletics, you name it. The school as a whole is suffering right now and that is all on the Warren County Board of Education. South Warren is a tremendous school and they did a great job with South Warren but at the same time a lot of the good of South Warren came at Warren Central's expense.

IMO it has hurt Central the worst in Football and Baseball.

 

It has hurt Greenwood the most, again IMO, in Softball/Baseball, Basketball, and in Soccer (both boys and girls).

Yes they play one heck of a schedule that will not do them any favors this year.

 

I'm guessing their schedule for next year is already made. Did they scale it back any? This year's schedule is stout for the best of teams, not just one that is really struggling.

I think you're right on yhe money. Spreading that Spartan love all over the county, except for Warren East. They already had enough problems.

That's not even remotely true. Even Trinity fans have been complaining about BGHS student athletes that play football this year. Not to mention, the BG folks I know own it. I've said it before and I'll say it until I die. BGHS is a school of excellence. I was an out of district student as I lived in Bent Tree when I went to BGHS. The district lines sliced all through my neighborhood but I guarantee there were more BGHS students in my neighborhood than any other school. The only athlete in the neighborhood was Kevin Willard. The rest of us were just regular old students. It's not just athletes at BGHS that are out of district it's regular students also. It's only an issue when they are good in sports. Otherwise, no one cares.

 

I'll also add that the main problem with what has happened at Warren Central is that it was a traditional power in football and seeing them as they are now is troubling because it didn't have to go down like this and everyone knows it. If we're going to be all the way honest if Warren Central was still Warren Central in football and it was Greenwood or Warren East suffering as South Warren's football program continues to rise to new heights each season then no one would care.

I don't blame South Warren for the Warren Centrals downfall. I blame the school board. Even though the building and redistricting of South Warren was the cause of the Dragons downfall, you can't blame the athletes and coaching staffs at South Warren. They just get lumped into the conversations. It's adults that are at fault, not kids.
