I don't blame South Warren for the Warren Centrals downfall. I blame the school board. Even though the building and redistricting of South Warren was the cause of the Dragons downfall, you can't blame the athletes and coaching staffs at South Warren. They just get lumped into the conversations. It's adults that are at fault, not kids.

 

Why do you keep on dodging the question why are you not get up set with the purples for taking all the county kids. Again go check the rosters of the purples and I will guarantee you 50% of the players come from the county.

You are right lets give credit where credit is due. South has kids from Franklin and Greenwood all over their roster. Its not just Warren Central kids.

By the way, I don't know if you saw in the paper but there has been a legal restriction on any county resident enrolling at the BGISD for over a year now.

Principal tried to get the Christian county coach but he would not touch it and now has what he can get. they are in KAOS and it will be a real long time before they are back. No good coach will touch this till it is fixed!

Some kids that live in the county go to Bowling Green High School. This has been going on for decades. The two school boards had an agreement. Last year they reached a new agreement. Everything is out in the open and all is fair. By the way, there are some city kids going to county schools. Parents want their kids to go to the best schools available. I feel they have a right to go to any school they want, but I'm okay with what they worked out. I think it's around 50 students a year. There are thousands of Purples that live in the county and they would like to see their kids go to Bowling Green High, but can't because of where they live. But to say the Bowling Green roster has 50% county kids on is just plain wrong and frankly ignorant.

His dad is also paying $4000 in tuition. Superintendent Clayton and friends wasted a whole lot of time and peoples money for a state ruling in their favor that you call crap.

If it were to go away, you would see a HUGE drop in BGISD #s , and several jobs lost as well. Then you would run into the problem of the county schools, yet again, being overcrowded. While it's not an ideal situation for the county on the surface, if you really look at the big picture going the other direction would be almost impossible.

It's simplistic, but what are they to do? How about vote out the board members who districted things the way they did, that have allowed the types of practices they have, and allowed their ambitions for a super school to help create the most successful period in Bowling Green Purple athletic history. Am I to believe that if these schools really set their minds to it, if the people in those areas really set their minds to it, that they couldn't put enough pressure on the board and superintendent to stop allowing schools within their own freaking system to pillage others? They are a few injuries at Warren Central away from having spent millions - MILLIONS - on a football complex that won't have a team to play there! We are way beyond the days when there'd be a high profile guy moving from one school to another, and into the wild west where a school could lose 8-10 guys from one team and have the county back it. And that's just a front and center example - there's much more movement at the lower levels.

So that county is now experiencing what has happened to Boone County? Think about all the talent on all 4 teams in Boone county over the last several years, now put it all on one team or even two.

It will be tough for Warren Central to ever get back to the level they enjoyed before!

The state didn't rule in their favor at any point. Warren County ran themselves up against a brick wall for two years, and as far as I'm concerned, Bowling Green conceded to an agreement for a slight reduction over a long term just for some peace of mind. That wasn't state mandated, that was the school systems finally working it out.

 

As for Dingle and the tuition - no agreement is necessary and there is nothing any school system can do if another school system wants to accept a student without the state funding that follows. The BGISD has that $4,000 tuition as a replacement for the state funding that would have followed if the county had released it for his transfer. If a person living right next to Greenwood wants to send their child to Bowling Green, all they have to do is pay the money for it.

This bothers me so much more than it should, but you keep spelling it KAOS. Does that stand for something? Are you just making a joke? Or do you really mean CHAOS?

 

And the principal made one of the most moronic mistakes I can recall. You never fire a coach in May for something athletic. If he makes a catastrophic mistake elsewhere, fine. But for performance on the athletic field of play or for low numbers (which showed how tragically out of touch this principal was), you have to be a complete imbecile to not realize that firing a coach in May is a mistake. I blame the county to an extent for their handling of the mass transfers, but it is reality that Mike Stevenson's decision to fire a coach when he had absolutely no controllable plan for another HC or for keeping their players helped drive those kids away. Just like it had been the year before when they fired Feggins - but at least that was in January.
