What is the best vacation you have ever taken?

Featured Replies

Mine is the trip to Disney & Universal we took in the Spring of 2015. Lots of good food, fun, and just a nice week away.

What's yours?

Not close. Hawaii.

St. Maarten

I'm ready to go back; hell, I'm ready to move there!

I had a really good one at Universal a couple years ago as well. Really liked it.

Outside of that, Miami, for sure.

Honeymoon in Maui, hands down.

Mine was the solo trip I took in summer of 2011. Went to:

Balitmore, MD

Philidelphia, PA

Springfield, MA

Boston, MA

Pittsburgh. PA

Pottsville, PA

Granpdarents

Stopped and did a lot of random things throughout the trip and had zero schedule. Its was great.

Trip to Jamaica in November will probably top it though lol.

Anyone done a lakehouse vacation up north in the NY/VT area? We often do a beach vacations (on one as I type this) but I would like to try something different. Loved one we took to Michigan years ago.

Visited three national parks with the family when I was a freshman in college.

Hit up the North Rim of the Grand Canyon as well as Bryce Canyon and Zion Canyon. Just an unbelievable trip. If you've only seen the Grand Canyon from the more developed and populated South Rim, then I can't suggest the relative isolation of the North Rim enough.

And if you ever go to Zion Canyon, try your best to stay at the National Park lodge at the bottom of the canyon. You can eat your breakfast and watch the sun come over the rim of the canyon. It's amazing.

Look somewhere around the coast of Maine Clyde. That would be up your alley. Beautiful up there. I worked up there one summer. Old Orchard beach was outstanding, near Portland

My favorite vacation was one I took with my father. Just he and I. Stayed on the Canadian side of Lake Erie. Fished for a week, just the two of us. Wouldn't trade it for all the other ones combined.

It's not

Trip out west with my grandparents when I was 10....remember it all (and, pretty clear) to this day.

We were gone for a month....Chicago, up through Wisconsin, into the Black Hills of South Dakota where we of course visited Mount Rushmore...went on into Wyoming where we went to Yellowstone (saw Old Faithful up front and in person) & the Badlands National Park. Then went into Utah, where we visited Salt Lake City and The Great Salt Lake, on into Nevada for my first trip to Vegas (This was back in the summer of '92 when UNLV was it, so we made sure to stop by their campus as well as the Thomas and Mack Center). We then hit up Hoover Dam and Lake Meade, on into the Grand Canyon.....across to New Mexico where we visited some Pueblo ruins up in the hills/mountains. We then went across the panhandle of Texas where we stayed a night or two in Amarillo, on into Oklahoma, Arkansas...stopped in Memphis to visit Graceland & back into Central KY.

We pulled their camper the WHOLE trip....had a flat tire that I remember changing in the rain w/ my grandfather after we had literally just came down off the Rocky Mountains in New Mexico.

Month long trip through the west. Only thing we missed that we wanted to see was Utah's canyons. Can't remember how many state and national parks and monuments we visited. Had beautiful weather the entire time except for a hailstorm in Yellowstone. Almost a full moon with cloudless skies over Yosemite and the Grand Canyon was spectacular.
