I think this post is the second time that you have implied, if not said, that MLK was taken out by the government. With all due respect, I do not recall any such implications in this respect surfacing in the mainstream media then or later. It could be that I missed such allegations in this area. I know that many think that JFK's assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald, was, if you will, an agent for the USSR or the Mafia but I have never heard that MLK's assassin was anything but a lone wolf and certainly not an agent of the US government. Can you pleae tell us how you have come to this opinion? Thank you.

There has long been a suspicion the the FBI was involved because of Hoover's loathing of King.

I read that the bomb was on some type of extended arm of the robot or something like that. So the robot wasn't destroyed.

I hope so, but I believe they detonated a pound of C4. If that's the case, the robot probably lost a lot more than its extension.

Just saw this from a news station in Dallas..

Anything beyond suspicion?

It's funny that you post this because just this week, this happened in Alexandria:

Alexandria hires Kentucky’s first police social worker

ALEXANDRIA – Alexandria has hired Kentucky’s first police social worker.

Alexandria Police Department has hired Kelly Pompilio for its new police social worker position as a way to reduce repeat 911 calls. Pompilio starts July 11 at an annual salary of $40,000.

Kentucky cities including Lexington, Louisville and Bowling Green have previously employed social workers exclusively focused on victims advocacy programs.

Alexandria’s social worker will focus, as programs in Illinois and Wisconsin do, on every kind of case from helping children impacted by domestic violence to victims of criminal acts, Chief of Police Mike Ward said.

Creating a social work position is as much a social experiment as it is a job, Ward said.

“What we have tried to do is make cops into social workers – which we are not,” he said.

Alexandria’s police chief for the past 15 years is changing how problems get approached in the city.

Law enforcement can’t take the same approach it has for years and expect different results, Ward said.

The southern Campbell County city of 9,000 has grown in recent decades from a rural community to a suburban outpost.

“Where the City Meets the Country” is Alexandria’s official motto. The city has 13 full-time officers and four part-time officers.

Reducing repeat 911 calls rooted in the same social service issues from the same addresses will be Pompilio’s goal.

“People today don’t know who to call, so they dial 911,” Ward said.

The 12 years Pompilio spent as a Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services social worker will help her refer people to existing social services instead of calling police repeatedly for help.

Pompilio said she has worked with police officers daily across Northern Kentucky in her former job focused on children.

The University of Louisville master’s degree social worker said she is eager to get to know a smaller community and “really connect” people with services including mental health, juvenile or elder abuse.

“The main thing for me is being able to follow through with families,” Pompilio said

Ward said about 80 percent of all calls for Alexandria police service are tied to some kind of social service issue. Heroin overdoses, abuse and neglect and even some cases of theft are all types of social service needs.

Having a social worker gives Alexandria a “second responder” to connect with people after an officer leaves, he said.

Circling back to check with people after a crisis can be difficult for officers, Ward said.

“We deal with ongoing crisis very well, but we’re not counselors and social workers,” he said.

Substitute "teachers" for "cops" and I've heard the same thing.

Nobody ever said that being POTUS is or was going to be easy. Tough job, it demands that he rise above our all petty differences and do the right thing reguardless of who it makes mad. We just need him to lead in a way that helps...

You can ask 100 people, 1000 people, 100,000 people. You will not find 100% agreeing how he should lead. You have it in your mind what he should do. PP2 has another view. My view is different than either of yours, but very, very close to bugatti's.

I read where the suspect wrote the letters rb on the wall in the room he was barricaded in, in his own blood. It seems to be something everyone involved in the investigation is trying to figure out what rb means. They probably already know to be honest, just don't want to say it until they are 100% sure.

Just a wild guess, but given the fact that he was making IED's, planned for a more massive scale than what he did in Dallas, the rb may have stood for Rubidium. It is a metal that can be used as an explosive making material, periodic symbol is Rb.

Amen. Keep in mind also the discussion of arming teachers. The two jobs get more similar all the time.

I hope not.

The FBI bugged and followed MLK for years. Hoover hated everything about MLK. At the absolute least they knew his life was in danger and they either A.) helped or B.) did nothing to stop it. No way they had no clue his life was in danger. Not with the way they kept tabs on him. No way at all.

If memory serves he was derided by the Nation of Islam and the Black Panthers.

Truth. And when Malcolm X took his pilgrimage to Mecca like all Muslims are required to do is when he learned that the Nation of Islam does not practice the Muslim religion the way Allah intended. He learned that the true Muslim religion is a peaceful religion that is more than just dark skinned individuals. He learned that Muslims are to love all individuals and while in Mecca he learned the true Muslim faith. He came home a changed man, a man who extended an olive branch to MLK after shaming MLK and his views and he denounce the Nation of Islam/Elijah Muhammed and their teaching and ways. He looked to forge relationship with MLK and there was a possibility these two would unite and work towards civil rights for blacks together. Unfortunately the Nation of Islam assassinated Malcolm X and we never got to see him reach his full potential.

Some on the anti gun side, the anti-open carry side, just don't get it, and never will! I am not talking about the "we need more or sensible checks and all" crowd.

So now on Facebook there are meme's going around about how there were 20 people who were open carrying at the Dallas protest that night? These memes were questioning why they all ran away from the gunfire. Of course these people are going to at least going to get away from the gunfire, they are protecting themselves. PLUS, how many LEO's were there? And how many more showed up within minutes of the start of the gunfire? Unless the people who were open carrying were know by the LEO's, it wouldn't be wise for them to go towards the gunfire.

Also, some of the comments were saying such things about how if people think that they need a gun to head down to the local coffee then they are so paranoid and thus shouldn't be able to own any guns. These same people also acknowledge that there is a lot of voilence today. So which is it? Is it safe? Is there no reason to worry about any violence when you or your family goes out? Unless one gives an answer of a 100% no there is no reason to worry, then their comments about people who carry are paranoid is beyond words to describe how ridiculous those comments are.

No problem with someone legally carrying a firearm. They have the right to do that and the right to open carry. I do however think open carrying is stupid.
