The worst one that I was ever dealt was in the 2001 State Semi's against NCC. We held them on their first 3 downs but a late hit gave their initial drive new life, then the flood gates opened. I believe it was like 50-0 at the half with a final of 58-8. They easily could've hung 80 on us. Going in we underestimated Smith's arm because the film showed him most lethal in the 10-15 yard range so we schemed to jump the underneath and play soft on passes over the top. Bad mistake on our part as he probably had 400 yards passing on the night. I believe that NCC team returned most of their team from the 2000 State Finals and just came up short against Danville in the finals. I believe Eveston or Everson was their RB that came up lame early in the 2nd half against us forcing him to miss the championship game.

Since I've been following Trinity, both in 2009.

 

Loss at Cincy X 43-13. Had to score late in the 4th to prevent a shutout. Terrible performance.

 

Loss to Louisville X in the championship game 34-10. This is the infamous "hat-tip" game and Mike Glaser's last win vs. Trinity. Trinity was never in thee game.

My freshman year. 1977. Boyle County vs. Harrodsburg. (Pioneers had Gus Parks, Nicky Yeast and company)

 

60-0.

 

Rebels beat Harrodsburg the year before in a big upset. Pioneers' Alvin Johnson wanted revenge and got it. I think Gus scored 6 TD's. Slid in on his knees everytime and spun around to show the ball the Boyle defenders. Even brought the first string defense back in late to save the shutout.

 

Still, that Boyle team rebounded and lost only one more game the rest of the regular season, upsetting Chris Jones and Danville along the way. Won the school's second District Title. Got beaten physically by Corbin in the Regional Final but the Rebels played a lot better against the Hounds than they did the Pioneers.

 

Epilogue: My class never forgot this game. We won the next three seasons and never allowed Harrodsburg to score. I even remember my senior year being so fired up that when we went up 27-0 in the 4th Quarter I screamed at what ever blue jersey was near me to "Run it UP!"

We knew we didn't have a chance to win. So we tried everything we could do to let the kids know we would not just take a butt kicking laying down. So we onside kicked the opening kick and got the ball. Next series we faked a punt. I guess that made Alvis mad. Because when he was up 50-0 we asked for a running clock. When the officials asked Alvis he told them to tell us he needed to work on special teams. So they ended up winning 83-0.

For Garrard County, statistically, the worst beating was a 67-7 loss at home to Somerset in 1982. That was a very good Somerset team, but also a very bad Garrard team. Garrard started the season 2-0, then lost their last 8, scoring only 40 points while allowing 266 over the stretch of losses.

 

Personally, however, I think the worst beating was the season finale in 2000 when Boyle County came to Garrard and won 73-30. Boyle was up 73-0 after three quarters before Garrard scored four times in the fourth to make it look a tad more presentable. Boyle would go on to win the state title.

I'm not a Elder fan and Elder isn't my team. Just thought I'd mention the beat down Trinity put on Elder in the pit. It was the worst home loss in Elders history. I'm just not sure of the year and final score. It might have been James Quick's senior year.

His junior year, 2011.

I was a member of the Woodford County marching band in the fall of '95, when Tim Couch and his Leslie county team came to town. I don't know where this beat down ranks in the records, but it was something like 60-3, I think. This was also the closest,new Kentucky signee, came to lexington in his senior year, so our county stadium was busting at the seams. I remember estimates of 10k +, in attendance. To watch Tim play, is ironically one of my fondest memories from high school. He literally looked like an NFL quarterback at 17 years old. Watching him through warm ups, 20 yards from where I was in the stands, was nothing short of amazing. He was tossing with his cousin, #3, his favorite receiver & the backup QB, and I don't think his passes of 30 yards ever got more than 7 feet from the turf. The other guy would sling it back and of course it had an arc to it. Another thing I remember is how fast, after catching, Tim would sling it back... It really was a sight to behold. The only positive,I can remember, for my yellow jackets was the fact that we had a guy intercept Tim twice in that game. I was told that was the only time anyone picked him off twice in the same game. Kennith Johns, I'm sure, will never forget that night and has probably told his kids about it a dozen times. I know I would!

In 1986, my Junior year, we went to Bardstown and be them 19 - 0 on a night that they were going to be celebrating their coaches 200 or 250 win. They had a party all ready set up for after the game and they were ranked #2 in the state (don't remember the class). The next year (1987) they came to our house on home coming night and beat us 55 - 0. Needless to say I didn't go to the home coming dance that night.

Steven played in the Championship game. It was Shawn Kelly and Steven Eviston who got hurt in the game and had to miss the state finals. Shawn was the leading receiver and a big weapon. Steven was a monster left tackle and was sorely missed. He got hurt on the last extra point. Just unlucky. The thing about that game that gets overlooked is that NewCath missed 5 extra points that game and you see what happened the next week.

I would imagine X people would probably say one of the T losses from in recent memory. But from both a physical and score standpoint, X's loss to Moeller in 2004 at Paul Brown Stadium was a very bad loss for the Tigers. The score was 43-21, but not even that close.

October 27, 1950 Bowling Green at Franklin-Simpson.

 

BG 65 FS 0 My Dad was the BG coach.

 

FS showed the film of that game to the Wildcats every year after that until the FS gym burned and the film went up in smoke.

 

 

Bowling Green's worst loss was at the hands of Paducah Tilghman October 10, 1969.

Unfortunately it was BG's Homecoming. The alums were not happy watching the Purples absorb a 70-0 blitz by the Blue Tornado.

Hard not to like Coach Webb... Even when I was in school (00-03), he'd show up from time to time and give us hell. :lol2:

Two stand out for me, the Highlands loss to St. X in 2005, which I believe was 45-0 before weather moved in and mercifully allowed the game to be cancelled. The other was the 45-6 playoff game at Rockcastle in 2002.
