Liberals Rioting

The scary part of the "Pocahontas" exchange is that Trump didn't realize the term might be offensive to Native Americans. Trump was in his Alan King comedy schtick mode. (Surprised he didn't have a drummer on stage with him to provide rimshots.) We'll likely hear "Charlie Chan" and "Sambo" from his foul mouth in the near future.

If we do, look for another upward bump in his core support.

Sure it does and you're right, it's NOT that hard to understand, not sure why so many don't get it. Don does and he counts on others not getting it.

Like I said before, when everything is considered racism, it demeans real racism...we'll just agree to disagree...and I could not disagree more...

I would certainly say it isn't a conservative thought in 1775. The Age of Reason was hardly a fundamentalist influence.

Like was mentioned earlier, too many are confusing political names with ideology. Both are in flux from an historical perspective.

As I stated, radical yes, Liberal, no.

The colonists were against a big central government and high taxes. These are central tenants to the Liberal ideology. So no, the colonists were far from liberal.

This.

When everyone says everything uttered is racism, it definitely demeans the true meaning of racism.

I laugh when I hear everyone scream that Trump is a racist for his Muslim remarks. I guess they don't know, or care, that Islam is a religion not a race.

What many don't want to admit is that Trump was making fun a Warren claiming to be Native American when she isn't. Inconvenient fact for them.

I referenced Wallace only because many will recognize his name from the movie Braveheart, which depicted that revolution. I never said that the victory brought them to Democracy. I dont believe their goal was Democracy, it was to rid themselves of English rule. I also never stated that Revolution was purely Conservative, another poster gave credit to Liberals for the American Revolution and you backed them up. Thank you for acknowledging the flaw that I exposed in your arguments.

The leaders of the American Revolution were of all spectrums. From Patrick Henry to John Adams to Thomas Paine to Thomas Jefferson. It would be hard to say that they all were conservative or liberal in their thinking.

Thanks. I would say that the government idea was a battle in the birth of the nation after the war. Hence the revamping of the Articles of Confederation into a Constitution and the writing of the Federalist Papers.

I don't think they were far from liberal. It depends upon the definition of liberal. Robert Kennedy and JFK were liberals. In their time. But would probably not be considered so next to Hillary Clinton or Nancy Pelosi or even brother Ted Kennedy.

I have said many times JFK would be drummed out of the Democratic party today.

We will agree to disagree on the colonists.

Here is the real issue. None of you want to address this?

You don't think Big Don using "Pocahontas" as name to "make fun" of somebody in front of a room full of Native Americans is an issue?

What's crazy is he and his Trumpeteers double down on this stuff.

Again, he was making fun of Warren. She had lied that she was Native American. Would you care to address Warren lying?

Why would I? Elizabeth Warren's issues with heritage is old news, but Big Don's constant proclivity of offending is the news.

Predictable.

How i.e. could Warren be offended when she lied about her heritage?

Then why not just call her out without using what would be an obvious offensive term if referring to an acutal Native American? There's a blue million things he could said without calling her Pocahantus. Again, use the term Pocahantus to address an actual Native American woman, and see what the reaction is. I get that he was just trying to call out Warren on her dubious stated heritage. And I have no issue with calling Warren out if she's misrepresenting her heritage, especially if it's for political or personal gain. But why do it with what would be a slur if said to an actual minority? He could have said something that likely would have been more effective without resorting to that. Is it the worst thing he's ever said?? Probably not. Was it horribly offensive and evil?? No. But still, it was crass and insensitive, and completely unnecessary.

Every other politician could have, but Trump couldn't. Therein lies the problem.
