There's a blue million things he could said without calling her Pocahantus. Again, use the term Pocahantus to address an actual Native American woman, and see what the reaction is. I get that he was just trying to call out Warren on her dubious stated heritage. And I have no issue with calling Warren out if she's misrepresenting her heritage, especially if it's for political or personal gain. But why do it with what would be a slur if said to an actual minority? He could have said something that likely would have been more effective without resorting to that. Is it the worst thing he's ever said?? Probably not. Was it horribly offensive and evil?? No. But still, it was crass and insensitive, and completely unnecessary. Could he have used a different term, sure. I'm glad you actually acknowledged he was calling out Warren and not slurring Native Americans per se.

It's obvious that he was speaking directly to Warren. But it was also obviously crass, and it should be obvious as to why this could be considered offensive to Native Americans. Yet that point gets glossed over and gets lumped in the "stop being so PC" basket. Another example of a group being told to just suck it up by folks with no skin in the game.

Trump could have, and should have directed comments directly to Warren, but he doesn't do that, as his main play every time is to be like a 10 year old spoiled brat bully and start insulting people not even caring who else he is offending. Then he wants to question the Native American reporter and others who has issues with his comments? The link below says of now native Americans are not happy with Trump over his comments, THESE are the people who's opinions matter, and they are upset at him. Also, according to the Cherokees, 1/32nd blood is considered being Cherokee, in fact the current leading chief of the Cherokees is 1/32nd Cherokee, if he can be a Cherokee chief with 1/32 blood, then why can't Warren be considered being Cherokee?
