May 24, 201610 yr Sure would be nice if Hillary would release her big dollar speeches to the Wall Street fat cats backing her. You think she might be saying something different to them? Nah, couldn't happen, right?
May 24, 201610 yr I must be missing something. I didn't see the "voice on the job" quote in the NYT article you linked to. I didn't see it either, although I did see that she told another bold face lie in the article about the $15 minimum wage. Mrs. Clinton has not supported a $15 hourly federal minimum wage, but when pressed about it in the last Democratic debate, she said she would sign a bill raising it to that amount if she were president.
May 24, 201610 yr I don't know about JD's original post link but she does say it here: Hillary Clinton throws support behind fast-food workers in surprise call | MSNBC DETROIT – Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton threw her support behind the movement for higher wages in dramatic fashion, making a surprise phone call Sunday to a convention of fast-food workers to declare: “I want to be your champion.” “No one who works an honest job in America should have to live in poverty,” Clinton told the startled crowd of around 1,000 low-wage cooks and cashiers who had gathered at a conference center here to plot the campaign’s next steps. “Every worker in every state and every city deserves a fair wage and a real voice on the job.” “Together, we will change the direction of this great country,” Clinton pledged. ” If something is great, why change the direction?
May 24, 201610 yr Although I did digress, I did not say anything about anyone at all being a loser. Those where are your words, not mine. I have no idea what Hillary did or did not say. My intent was to point out, via anecdotal evidence, that union workers are not always easy to deal with, nor do I feel that they are always the answer. And yes, for the record, I have had far more bad dealings with unions and union workers than I have had good. I used to file grievances. There's more to this pizza story than what you reported in post 7. We both know that. You shared a story and got some laughs. As far as "union workers not always easy to deal with" -- correct me if I'm wrong, but that's how the system works. I don't want my union reps to be buddies with management. There needs to be a respectful but semi-adversarial relationship in play.

One person gets something that someone else didn't get so it's not "fair and equitable" as the union likes to say. Don't try to act like there aren't people like this. Every union has them.

Don't try to act like there aren't people like this. Every union has them. I'll bet you were a crackerjack union rep, based on your anti-union sentiments on display in right-wing BGP land. You're right -- "every union has them" -- there's dead wood at every level of a business: top management, middle management, on the floor. It's all part of the vitality curve. Do I believe a bonafide grievance was filed over slices of pizza? No.

Do I believe a bonafide grievance was filed over slices of pizza? No. Why thank you! I like to think that my years as a union rep is what drove me to the right. So now that you've questioned the validity of the OP and were given proof of what was said, are you going to further that discussion or are we going to hear GOP insults from you for the umpteenth time. (Those get old too)

May 24, 201610 yr It's in the video they posted with the story. Quite a leap to go from "voice on the job" to "every job should be unionized." I'm not seeing anyone else connecting the dots similarly ... nothing on foxnews, newsmax or even infowars.
May 24, 201610 yr Just another reason to offshore jobs. HRC with her enterprise killing regulation, passionate support of free trade, and zeal for unionization will put us all on Welfare!
May 24, 201610 yr I rest my case that some on here would uphold Adolph Hitler if he was a Democrat. This cannot be disputed.

May 24, 201610 yr That's a heck of a leap of logic that I sure don't follow. TTP will uphold Hillary Clinton to the end........no matter what she would do or has done.

As far as "union workers not always easy to deal with" -- correct me if I'm wrong, but that's how the system works. I don't want my union reps to be buddies with management. There needs to be a respectful but semi-adversarial relationship in play. There is no more to the story...believe me on that. And the fact that you, a pro-union individual who has/had an obvious direct hand in union operations, would use the words "semi-adversarial" in your description of what you think a healthy manager/employee-labor relationship should be would, to me, explain exactly why unions are perceived as broken and outdated. I have worked in multiple aspects of industry, in both unionized and non-unionized workplaces. I've been a union apprentice carpenter, an employee-laborer, and I've been a manager in unionized and non-unionized shops. To be adversarial is to be in opposition to someone, and to say that the unions baseline position is that "we semi-oppose management" is to say that they always semi-disagree with their boss. That, to say the least, is the picture of inefficiency. Time is money. If you want to waste your money, hire an inefficient workforce.
