And GWB for his promises to not get the US involved in nation-building. And the beat goes on …

Of course Jack and Jill Worker care to see their company thrive. To suggest otherwise is misguided. The only people who need to adopt this semi-adversarial stance of which I speak are the union representatives elected from the rank and file, and only in a setting requiring written or face-to-face meetings with management. Otherwise, everyone on the clock rows in unison and has a smile on their face.

I trust you also realize that when we speak of grievances, we're speaking of a formalized, contract-covered process for settling disputes -- only a few of which, in my experience, involved pay. The vast majority do not. So when a union files a grievance on behalf of a worker or group of workers, the issue has entered the realm of "serious." Both the union and management from that point on must follow the written rules for settling the grievance.

Very familiar with the formalized process of a grievance. I was sitting in a 3 hour meeting with union representatives and our management on Monday morning in order to review and discuss the "serious" pizza grievance.

As a person who is generally — and emphasis on "generally" — supportive of unions, griping about a pizza party smacks of silliness to me. Save your grievances for something legit, guys. Like workplace safety.

Wasting your breath with this guy. He just wants to perpetuate and enable the grievance industry.

There's more to this story, bub. Is this part of a behavior pattern involving one supervisor? How many past grievances are still unresolved? If the grievance is indeed frivolous, as claimed, then what management actions in the past spurred the local to go this route? Without context, we don't know a whole lot ... do we?

CWB said there's not, and well, he's an upstanding guy so I'll take his word for it.

Behavior parttern? Such a horrible behavior pattern for a supervisor to provide lunch to employees on his own dime. The nerve!

"I thought the discussion was to focus on Hillary's call to unionize every job in the country"

Funny , a guy who is an outsider telling the insider he doesnt know what he is talking about . We need some context to the story - Was it pepperoni or sausage ? Did the lack of cheese not extending to the crust cause any additional emotional harm that hasnt been reported ? Was it Papa John's ? That could be sexist . We dont know a lot .... do we ?

You are gullible. There's a lot more to this story. For starters: How many grievances have been filed against this company over the past 18 months, and how many have been resolved? Any way you look at it, this grievance reflects poorly on management. What's going on here doesn't sound like a healthy work environment, does it?

Nope, this grievance only reflects poorly on the fool who filed it. Also on his union reps if they didn't try to dissuade him.

Put extra anchovies on my slice.

On point one listed above we finally agree on something. On point two please share what you know thats not been told. If you are just speculating then you need to change the way you are talking about this. Maybe you do know more, but only if you are part of the case.

Hey TTP -- you on that union clock right now ? Or do you clock out before sharing your wisdom on BGP's ?

My agitatin' days are behind me. But I do enjoy sparring with people who have little clue how the management-labor process actually works.
