Hillary Clinton declares every job should be unionized?

What other info would you like? Ask any question you want, and I'll do the best I can to answer.

Also, I looked into it...two slices of Papa John's 14" pepperoni pizza is 620 calories, 26g protein, and 76g carbs, and 26g fat. Add in 160 calories, 2g protein, 15g carbs, and 10g fat for a serving of Lays potato chips (there was far more than 1 serving available per person).

And if any of our guys are framing houses...or any other kind of building for that matter, then I want to know about it, because they sure as hell aren't doing their jobs.

After you fill in missing background info (name of union, type of company, etc.): What does the grievance say? What is the company's answer to the grievance? What does the contract language say? How many other grievances are outstanding? That's a good beginning.

Most labor unions are now in the business of squeezing business. Their main function these days, because they generally represent groups of workers who have very easily attainable skills, is to try to get their members more pay and benefits than their skill levels could command in an open market. Because of this, it is often better for business to pack up and start production in Mexico, China, Pakistan or anywhere else they can easily train the workers and where union interference is not an issue.

Why would or should employees get a "fair share" of profits?

Use of the word profits seems to really be tripping people up. As I said above, when I referred to profits I was referring to employees getting a fair wage and bonuses that reflect how well they and the business are doing. Word it however you want. What I am saying is pay your employees and it will pay off for you - the business owner. Use the employees as parts, and you will be replacing parts a lot and complaining that you can't find good employees. Or, you will end up having employees saying they need a union.

I assume you are saying that they should get a share of the profits, that are above and beyond their agreed upon wages?

Not at all. Their wages is their fair share of profits. That's what I took from VoR's post that you quoted and that is what I live everyday in my Union environment. We make great wages. Our company makes a ton of money. The company people make great wages too.

Capitalism at its finest!!!! Well, until the damn unions get involved.

No. It is still Capitalism at it's finest. Only, once they leave for greener pastures, the businesses can better do what they are designed to do. Make money for the owners or the share holders.

Or they fail miserably. Goes both ways.

How many businesses can you name that have failed when the move abroad to find lower costs and regulation? One problem with the union mindset is that it fails to recognize that businesses are better off without unions but unions have nothing without the busineses.

None but I haven't done any research on it to prove my point.

Why would the union mindset recognize that businesses are better off without them? That's counterproductive. Shouldn't it be the business mindset be that they are better off without unions?

So because such thinking, though true, is counterproductive, it is better that the unions ignore the fact that businesses do not need or want them around and that they, the unions , are driving businesses to move abroad? While they are able to squeeze excess pay and benefits for a few, many others are harmed by the fact that businesses feel the need to move off shore due to the cost of doing business here. Again, businesses would be better off without unions, but unions are nothing without business.

Yes. Businesses are better off without unions. They can make more money and do whatever they want to do to their employees with no worries at all. They can underpay them, they don't have to give them healthcare and they don't have to worry about their safety. Of course businesses are better off without unions. In some situations employees are better off with unions. In a perfect world we wouldn't need unions but greed can be an ugly thing. Unions have done a good job of keeping businesses honest.

Unions have done a good job of driving businesses abroad and causing others to close up shop rather than run a business for less profit than the owners could make doing something else and not having to deal with the unions.

And businesses have done a good job of working with those who help fatten their pockets and allowed everyone to make money and be merry.

I get why you only want to look at one side of the equation but to ignore the good that unions and companies have done and still continue to do together is shortsighted.

Unions have done a good job of driving businesses abroad and causing others to close up shop rather than run a business for less profit than the owners could make doing something else and not having to deal with the unions.

I would say over regulation and free trade with countries that can manufacture in the complete absence of regulation have more to do with job losses. Unions are generally in decline with declining memberships.

Exploiting our fellow man is our nature, and it goes both ways. Companies will exploit workers who do not know the value of their skills. However, unionized labor will always seek compensation that goes beyond what is merited by performance and market forces.

Bull.

What is driving jobs overseas is the unrestrained greed of a handful of people coupled with their unlimited political power to get trade agreements that allows goods to come into this country made with what is essentially slave labor. Unions have nothing to do with it, except as a meme. Our nation's period of greatest economic growth was driven on the backs of union workers. It aint unions ruining this country, it is greedy bankers.
