Open Job: Scott

Featured Replies

NCH is also where Minor played in high school before transferring to Colerain. Wonder why he would want to leave so soon?

If Shannon does want the job it's likely because his kids are in the Scott school district. Something that I would not want in this era of social media.

Bezold didn't do much at NKU. He didn't even recruit NKY kids.

6 NCAA D-2 tournament appearances, five GLVC East Division titles, two GLVC Tournament championships, 2nd all-time career wins at NKU. Not much. lol

Were you the guy who said Carson Williams is the second coming of Larry Bird? lol

If he had focused on recruiting NKY kids he would have lost the NKU job a long time ago. NKY is not a hotbed for D1 athletes in any sport. And while transitioning to D1, the D1 athletes there were had better options.

21-4 is nice but lets remember the level that they play. Scott is a step up from NCH without a doubt.

His NCH team beat Campbell. I don't recall Scott doing that

lol...well, let's take a look:

Scott Bibbins

Kevin Reinhardt

Drew Beckett

Travis Rasso

Derek Smith

David McFarland

Corey Sorrell

Drew McDonald

Jake Giesler

Brady Jolly

Ben Weyer (Brannen nixed offer)

Seems like a few NKY guys there.

Look at all the Holmes kids he didn't receuit?

When Shields coached NKU he had really good teams with some NKY kids.

As a former Holmes player and grad, I can tell you for a fact Bezold and his staff recruited many Bulldogs. Several chose other schools, and some were just not able to get into NKU academically. I assume you understand what that means.

Bezold was Shields' recruiting coordinator.

Not able to get in to NKU but can get in to other D1 schools?

You ever hear of junior colleges? That's where some of them ended up. Some of the D-1 schools also "creatively" find ways to get players eligible. NKU, to its credit, refused to do such.

Why am I arguing with someone who thinks Simon Kenton has a better football program than Highlands? lol

Also, Bez had a tough sell. His first two classes in the transition to D1 would never compete for an NCAA bid. Who wants to go tons D1 school and not even have the opportunity to get to the big dance?
