That One Guy
They should name the school after former governor and MLB commissioner A.B. "Happy" Chandler. The Chandler Greyhounds
TribePride
I'd like to see the nickname "Hellcats" be used once again!
Colonels_Wear_Blue
The school name is Frederick Douglass High School, and Fayette County posted an opening for a new head football coach on November 4th. Per FCPS's website, there are still no updates on school colors or mascot.
Watusi
I heard Garry McPeek's name thrown about as a possible candidate for a position at the new school. Any truth to that rumor?
Bluegrasscard
This will definitely impact all Fayette County teams. I think that is one reason there was such a drive this year to do well by Lafayette. They will lose many seniors and have to deal with re-districting - as will all the school. Jumper_Dad
I was wondering how it will affect all of the schools. I wonder how strict system will be on forcing players in new schools district to go to new school, if they are a Jr or Sr to come. IMO any incoming Senior, athlete or not should be able to finish out at current school.

Can you imagine to the uproar by non-sport students who would not want to move to new school? I am not sure there is a phase-in of any type. Will look for that and the districting maps. Also will look to see what happened when Dunbar came online.

Johnny_Utah
Wont impact Lafayette hardly at all. It will impact Henry Clay & Bryan Station the most. This will definitely impact all Fayette County teams. I think that is one reason there was such a drive this year to do well by Lafayette. Johnny_Utah
I have to respectfully disagree. I have seen numerous transfers get denied within Fayette County from one school to another in-county. That rubber stamp doesn't exist. The Lexington Herald Leader stated previously transfers are normally rubber stamped making Fayette County districts virtually non-existent.
