But if they have a brokered convention, they pretty much guarantee Hillary wins the White House IMO. That's why it's not a smart course of action, but they seem hellbent on making it happen.

Is it simply insert opinion of Trump, Cruz's extremism, and Kasich's lack of traction so Marco is the only one left standing? Is the that he is the good looking, young Latino Senator from Florida? I guess what I am saying is I completely understand why powerbrokers would want him, but I'm struggling to see his appeal to the average GOP voter.

I heard this past weekend on the radio that the establishment did the polling and knew that there was 'name fatigue' when it came to Bush. People said - we do not want aother Bush (and I bet they say same about you-know-who). But they ran him and funded him anyway. The powers are so arrogant they ignore data that they themselves have collected.

I completely agree with that analysis. Even though Bush originally received the blank check, in a bubble Rubio should be the perfect establishment candidate. Young, good-looking, Latino, from Florida, and seemingly easy to influence/control. My question however is more aimed at individual posters that have favored him or still do. Dems played similar game in '04 with Kerry-Edwards ticket.

 

Let's not forget that Trump's success isn't solely due to (a) Trump's style and (b) discontent with the GOP establishment of Romney, Mitch and Boehner. What's also driving Trump's success is a real weak field of primary opponents.

Serious question for anyone who watched. Was there even a single serious new question posed last night? It just seems like after eleventy thousand debates it would be hard to come up with anything new in the way of serious policy questions.

I wish just once Trump would call him Little Buttercup or Foam Boy.

The other three absolutely have to say they would support Trump if he gets the nomination. They lose votes quickly if they allude to supporting Hillary over Trump. They may as well drop out of the race for saying something like that.

Little Marco and Lyin' Ted would make for a good tv show about a couple of poker players crossing the country playing poker and solving a mystery each week.

Just my two cents, but I think the powers-that-be believe it is more important to remove Trump's name from the GOP ticket - even if it means an Independent run by Trump - than it is to find the best path to the Presidency. If his name is away from the ticket it may help prevent the colossal meltdown of the Republicans relinquishing congressional power. 34 Senate seats are up for grabs.

Watching the debate last night, I thought it was 1998, I was back in college and watching NWO or WWF...I kept waiting for someone to strip down throw themself off the ropes and clothesline someone...

I think the GOP would rather lose this election and retain control over the party than to have Trump turn it into a populist party. I think. It's going to be fascinating to watch unfold.

Why isn't the national media covering the Kentucky caucus and it's 46 delegate prize. They have barely mentioned the Bluegrass State.

How do you come up with one plan that would put a dent in 19 trillion? If we could just get the interest taken care of so it wasn't increasing at the rate it is now would be a huge help...Or we could just print 19 trillion dollar bills.
