February 21, 201610 yr Jeb didn't deserve to be President. He let Trump bully him from the start and never had the backbone to really stand up to him. Would you want a guy like that dealing with Putin?!
February 21, 201610 yr Bush is also a company guy. He could have stayed in for the long haul, but he knows the longer he stays, the better chance Trump has at widening his margin on the field. This is a last ditch effort to rally support behind Rubio.

This is a last ditch effort to rally support behind Rubio. I agree. Trump had probably hoped Bush would hang around through Super Tuesday. His candidacy wasn't going to hurt Trump as much as Rubio and Cruz.
February 22, 201610 yr If we could only somehow mesh Rubio's youth and charisma with Jeb's policy and experience (and money).....we would have a winner!
February 22, 201610 yr I have a feeling Kasich will bow out after Nevada tomorrow. Also think before Super Tuesday, both Bush and Kasich will throw their support behind Rubio.
February 22, 201610 yr If we could only somehow mesh Rubio's youth and charisma with Jeb's policy and experience (and money).....we would have a winner! Exactly. Unfortunate that each had shortcomings they wont be able to overcome. I'd expect Bush to send his $/support to Rubio. They were pals in FL.
February 22, 201610 yr It looks to me as if it will come down to Trump vs Rubio as the last two standing. Unfortunately for Rubio, many voters are tired of the Establishment candidates the GOP has served up the last two Presidential cycles. McCain and Romney were supposed to be the "electable ones" according the the Carl Rove's of the world. In my opinion if Rubio wins the nomination, he will need to name a cantankerous outsider type as a running mate if he wants to have a chance of winning. If trump wins the nomination, he will need to name a squishy running mate like Kasich.
February 22, 201610 yr Therein lies the problem. R's are convinced that the D's and Hillary are the devil's spawn, but at the same time they realize that the party of Bush, McConnell and Boehner has failed them. That's why Trump is doing well. Republicans are as disgruntled with the obstructionists in Congress as are the Dems. Lets not pretend that Hillary or Bernie are any better that Trump or any other Republican running. This whole race is a sad, pathetic joke.

February 22, 201610 yr I have a feeling Kasich will bow out after Nevada tomorrow. Also think before Super Tuesday, both Bush and Kasich will throw their support behind Rubio. All signs seem to point to Kasich staying in until Michigan or Ohio, and with victories in one or both, longer.
February 22, 201610 yr Lets not pretend that Hillary or Bernie are any better that Trump or any other Republican running. This whole race is a sad, pathetic joke. I love all these BGP Ripon Society scenarios in which Rubio is left standing after the dust settles, to proudly carry the Republican banner in war vs. the evil Hillary. Why would the GOP also-rans (Bush, Carson, Kasich, Christie) throw their support to a lightweight like Rubio? He hasn't won a single state primary ... yet he's the chosen one? What am I missing? He currently has the support of fewer than one in four Republican voters ... yet he's the anointed one? Someone help me.
February 22, 201610 yr Trump: I'm not sure Rubio is eligible for presidency - CNNPolitics.com So it begins. I wonder how long before Trump hits the No Show Robo-candidate over his arrest record? I hear the Trump people are already looking to put that one in their playbook.
February 22, 201610 yr I'm not sure Rubio has it in him to attack Hillary in the General. I may be wrong, but he seems to laid back to get into a mud slinging contest and I am looking forward to seeing the mud fly.

I feel like he genuinely likes Marco and won't make anything personal towards him. Now Ted Cruz on the other hand... Now that Bush is out he's enemy number 1 and I cannot wait until this next debate.
