8% in southern military state with the ex-prez campaigning for him told his campaign all they needed.

One thing we learned from Jeb's failed campaign is that the most money doesn't necessarily win the race.

Overlooked by Jeb's withdrawal is that Cruz failed to connect with the S.C. evangelicals. He's going to have to do better "moving forward."

This is one terribly weak GOP presidential field. Which is why Trump is leading. I'm not sure that Bush's major donors are going to divert their money anywhere else right now.

Weak field? Maybe.

Compared to the train wreck of the Dem field, I'll take it.

Virtually every reply you (and others) utter is either (a) Dems are worse; (b) Hillary is a liar. The two replies that fit any scenario. Deep thinking going on here.

No, El Capitan, the Dems are not worse in terms of party meltdown. It ain't even close.

Keep telling yourself that.

Whatever it takes for you to get through the day.

Republicans wouldn't be in the jam they're in today if Mitch and Boehner had worked, rather than obstructed, with the Executive Branch. The rise of the clown Trump is largely due to the fact that Republicans in Congress have done zilch to improve the lives of their aging middle-class base. At least the incompetent Bush gave that base the Medicare Plan D drug benefit.

What's going on in the Republican Party rests 100% on the Republicans themselves.

Actually both of these replies are 100% true...hard to argue that...

I find it hilarious when you call out the Repubs as being obstructionist. You have convenient memory loss when it comes to Harry Reid being the most obstructionist Senate leader in modern times.

Are the Repubs great? Nope. I do suggest you Dems sweep around your own doorstep prior to calling out the Repubs.

True, but that doesn't really make anything the GOP throws up there all that strong. It's just another election of "I'm not them."

Therein lies the problem. R's are convinced that the D's and Hillary are the devil's spawn, but at the same time they realize that the party of Bush, McConnell and Boehner has failed them. That's why Trump is doing well.

Republicans are as disgruntled with the obstructionists in Congress as are the Dems.

I won't argue with you too much on this Shue. Part of the issue we have in this country right now is that running for president has become SO taxing for anyone, most really qualified people simply have no interest. If you run for either party, you will have hundreds of people (thousands if you are an R) trying to find ANYTHING from your life to destroy you. And if they cannot find much, they will make stuff up. I don't know why anyone would want to put themselves or their family through that mess.

I was just saying that a party who is trotting out an admitted Socialist and a pathological liar as their two top dogs should not be throwing rocks at the other side. I still don't know that to think of Trump. I think Rubio is a strong candidate...not big fan of Crews...

I won't argue with you TTP. I literally think Hillary is the devil. I won't deny that. One of my least favorite people on the planet. The R's in Washington the past few years have ticked off their base SO MUCH that the voters are seriously considering someone like Trump...a blowhard for sure...but many R voters say "why not" and let's give him a chance. He cannot be worse than the goofballs we have in Washington (both parties) now...

Don't kid yourself. Yes, he can be worse.
