How long could you go meatless?

Forever if I had to. I love food, but I think I'd figure it out.

Probably about 6 hours.

Ummmm...thats what she said.:)

I hate Lenten Fridays if that answers the question.

Lenten Fridays are the best. I'd eat fish everyday.

You do know eggs are meat right?

as far as the question goes, pretty much every meal so I've never gone very long. Why would I? meat is good and good for you. Humans weren't meant to be go with out it.

Food for thought...

Nothing better than a parish fish fry.

I have two rules on people I trust and I know it seems extreme. But I can't trust a guy who can't drink alcohol or eat meat.

I know I get a weird feeling when my wife tells me we are having a meatless meal.

I'm gonna go ahead and say it's totally unethical to not eat meat. Don't need a bunch of uppity cows all up in my business. Gotta keep 'em in check.

If I could do meat substitutes I may be able to go a while. I was once married to a vegan, so it can happen with some adjustment.

Not that I would ever choose it unless I absolutely had to do so.

How long could I? What is in it for me, seriously?

Sometimes I lay in bed for a real long time and then eat fruit and cereal for breakfast but never more than about 16 hours.

I am sitting here trying decide if I would be willing to give up meat in exchange for winning the $675 million dollar powerball...

I would have to have a strong motivation. 675 Million Dollars is plenty strong, well past my threshhold. :D

Right there with you. I always have a tiny twinge of guilt when Lent begins, because meatless Fridays are my favorite.

To answer the original question, I can go days without meat. Maybe even weeks. I love meat, but I love pasta even more. I eat a LOT of pasta. But, saying that, when I found bacon at Kroger the other day for 1.99/package, I bought 4 packages. I'd have bought more if I had a bigger freezer. :lol2: I love beef. And I love pork chops to the point of ridiculousness. Every few weeks or so, I just HAVE to have pork chops.

Only time I got meatless is if I have a can of Tomato Basil soup and a grilled cheese or something. And that's if I didn't have any ham or turkey to put on the grilled cheese.

Fiance occasionally tries to get me to try a meatless meal and it hasn't worked yet.

I could do it, but it would be difficult and take some getting used to. Chicken would be the most difficult for me. I eat chicken at least 4-5 days a week, maybe more.

I'd eat a ton of fish, eggs, and fruit.
