December 14, 201510 yr Is it illegal to bet on horses? Because if it is, I'm in deep :poop: Did you miss the "including baseball" part?
December 14, 201510 yr If Pete would've gotten out of his own way he would've been reinstated a long time ago. Zero sympathy for him.
December 14, 201510 yr Did you miss the "including baseball" part? Is it illegal to bet on baseball? I don't even know?
December 14, 201510 yr Think about what is the biggest no-no and your job. If you did that would you still be working there or ever have chance to go back?
December 14, 201510 yr Think about what is the biggest no-no and your job. If you did that would you still be working there or ever have chance to go back? Let's see,,if I cut someone's head off, could I go back? Hmmmm
December 14, 201510 yr Why do the Reds fans over the age of say 40 love Pete so much? Don't you realize that he lied to you for 24 years. Lied to an entire city, an entire generation of fans, and verbally attacked people that accused him. Because of the way he played the game...it's that simple for me. No one else had that passion for the game that he showed every single game.
December 14, 201510 yr I was a big fan in my pre and early teens when Pete led the Big Red Machine to greatness. I didn't have any reason to dislike him... And how cool was it as a kid to follow the best team in baseball? Great memories. As an adult I'm not very passionate one way or another if he's ever reinstated or gets into the hall as I really don't care, but the one thing that stands out to me is when he gets national attention, such as sitting in with the broadcasting team during the 2015 All Star Game, he embarrasses the hell out of me, and probably also the city of Cincinnati for being such a classless jack wad who tries, but fails to be funny while trying to hog all of the attention, spitting out whatever sophomoric junk that comes out of his unintelligent mouth in a ridiculously unprofessional way. I know, he's just being Pete, and that he's not representing me personally, but I still can't but help to cringe when I know that the nation is watching and thinking that he's a guy that the city of Cincinnati thinks is so fantastic. Yes, there's no denying that he played a phenomenal game of baseball in his day, but at the end of the day he's still just Pete, and not a guy that I have a whole lot of respect for. I generally just think of him as being a classless conceited loud mouth goof ball that has an over inflated opinion of himself. I lost more sleep when it took so long for KISS to get into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame, which in truth was none. Does he belong in the Hall? That's for others to debate all of the pros and cons, because in truth I really don't care.
December 15, 201510 yr Why do the Reds fans over the age of say 40 love Pete so much? Don't you realize that he lied to you for 24 years. Lied to an entire city, an entire generation of fans, and verbally attacked people that accused him. The people over 40 saw him play - at least the ones over 45. He was a one in a lifetime type player. However, I totally agree with the rest of the post. He is a pathological liar. He may not even know when he is lying at this point.
December 15, 201510 yr The only reason Pete didn't get reinstated was because Pete couldn't get out of his own way. If he retired quietly in Cincinnati Pete would be in the HOF today. But no, he had to keep gambling on sports, live in Vegas, and quite frankly just keep being himself. He never changed which stinks cause he deserves to be in the HOF. I would like to see Pete Rose in the Hall of Fame but this statement is true. Had he shown true remorse for his mistakes a lot earlier than when he did then he'd probably be in the Hall of Fame already.
December 15, 201510 yr I've said for years that Pete Rose would be elected to the HOF, posthumously. I'd fine with that. He did it to himself.
