The reason CCH looked bad offensively tonight was all about Cooper's D. There is nothing flashy about it just hard nosed move your feet defense and a hand in every shooters face. CCH did not get many open looks till late in the game and by that time they were starting to press offensively.

CCH will be much more difficult to guard down low when Ziggelmiere is healthy. He will be a difficult matchup for Cooper in March

Like I said earlier today, many keep underestimating Cooper. They flat out play tremendous defense which is the stable of Coach Sully who several posters said wasn't as good of coach as coach Ruthsatz which I clearly stated BOTH are great coaches.

I don't care if it's first the game or not, this is a great win for the Jags and to get solid contributions from 3 football players who had only been practicing a week was huge! And someone said they would get blown out by 20....ok

CCH got a LOT of good open looks that they simply did not convert. Yes, Cooper gets after it on D which is not a shock to anyone that has watched Sully teams. However, CCH got plenty of looks. Rough night for Flood and CVH. Most of Cole's shots were short. I'm going to write part of that off to being back for about a week or so and part to simply having to work hard to Cooper's D. When Hendrix guards you you have to work hard.

As I did in the prediction thread I once again will agree.

 

This lineup will give Cooper an entirely new look offensively which we saw tonight. When you free up the driving lanes by having the open post it makes D really tough when you have players that can take you off the bounce. Cooper has 4 of them at one time. Sully isn't some coach who teaches HIS system. He works with what he has. Really good outside shooting team which makes it even more difficult.

 

Legit region contender.

 

I'd love to see these two late January to see how each has progressed and to give us a potential 9th region preview.

Got lots of looks that they will have a high success rate with.

Got about 22 to 25 points out of the 5 position tonight between Hepp, AJ, and Ziggy.

Aiden Ruthsatz fared well. Really gets after it on D. Didn't force too much offensively. Controlled the offense well.

I said it in another thread. Sean McNeil was the best player in the gym. CCH had no one that could guard him. They tried several different people on him. It didn't matter, they had no answer for him. McNeil is the best player in the 9th region. Can play big or small, lights out shooter, great passer, and very good rebounder. Gonna be an exciting two more years for Cooper fans to watch him.

You don't see many teams where all of the players wear low-cuts like CCH did tonight.

I heard a lot about the Fredrick player. 6-4ish stud from Cincinnati. Was not impressed with him tonight. Started and played a lot of minutes. Zero points. Was he having a off night or is he way overrated?

 

I was really surprised AJ Mayer wasn't a starter.

 

I think a lot of people overlooked how many good players graduated the past two years from CCH. They were all scoring threats. Two years ago everyone keyed on Nick Ruthsatz. Last year Cooper Theobold and Bo Schue drew a lot of attention. That gave Cole a lot more open looks. He has a younger less experienced supporting cast around him this year. Everyone will be keying on him. Can he step up and be that player the Nick was.

Not being at the game how did he look and what did he play? Wondering if he will be the commander of the troops or his sidekick. Either one I would pick him 1st on the playground. :-)
