Not being at the game how did he look and what did he play? Wondering if he will be the commander of the troops or his sidekick. Either one I would pick him 1st on the playground. :-)

Whose sidekick?

Whose sidekick?

Whoever is running point is what I meant. Sorry for confusion.

He will play both. Played 2 more tonite.

Got to rub elbows with a few famous BGP'ers tonight. Good company!

Tale of two halves. The first half flew by and the second was a foul fest. It was hard for either team to get into any rhythm in the second half.

It's December 2nd so it is really hard to pass judgement on a game like this but it a real confident booster for Cooper going forward.

McNeil is really good and can create his own shot. Nice handle going either way with good body lean. When he squares up he can knock it down. Thought the other McNeil, Kunkel and Hendrix played well too.

CCH had some good looks. VonHandorf was short on shots but it looks like he gets his shot off quicker from the perimeter. What he finish from the field? He was 3-17 at one point. I'm sure he was shaking off some rust thought.

CCH is deep. They easily go 10 deep.

I would say these two teams are the ones to beat as the year progresses.

I agree,,, if the 2nd half was called like the 1st I believe the game may have been more competitive. In the 2nd half,, neither team could get anything going without it being interrupted with a trip to the foul line. It will be interesting to see the two teams play again. Congrats to Cooper on the win!!

Strong crew. Called a good game.

I heard a lot about the Fredrick player. 6-4ish stud from Cincinnati. Was not impressed with him tonight. Started and played a lot of minutes. Zero points. Was he having a off night or is he way overrated?

A few issues with your post IMO.

I don't recall anyone saying "stud."

He's 6'2 at the most.

He needed to be more aggressive offensively. First varsity game ever so he may have been trying to feel his way. Has a really nice game and will be a key for them.

I was really surprised AJ Mayer wasn't a starter.

AJ will get plenty of run whether starting or not. Gives Scott a lot of flexibility. He's only been at basketball for less than two weeks. I thought he played really well tonight.

He finished with 10 points and 10 boards.

So Clyde, who's the better player at the next level? McNeil or CVH? Why?

Really good question. I don't know if I can say for sure. CVH has D1 offers in his pocket. Sean doesn't have any as of yet. Two different players at the college level. CVH can play point. Sean can play the 2 and 3. Can he guard at the D1 level on the perimeter? Can CVH guard the 1 at the D1 level?

Not trying to defer. I just can't answer. I love watching both play. If you combine their strengths, tangible and intangible, into one player it's a legit D1 stud player.

Coolest moment of the night is when the father of Coach Sullivan was recognized before the game. I couldn't hear what the award was but he got a standing O from both sides. Cool moment.

Under Armour wants their shoes back.

I don't care who you are, that is funny.

I said in my preview that he was the best all around player in the region...showed it tonight. Kid just flat out gets it done.

Didn't you have McNeil as #1C ??

CovCath is a good team but not a dominating one that can walk thru the region undefeated.

Cov Cath will be fine. It's the 1st game of the year. While it sucks to lose any game, there are plenty of experiences one can learn from a loss that might be overlooked in a win. Nobody from CCH will claim this is a good thing, but it's certainly not the worst that could happen. There is plenty of work to be done, and this loss only reinforces that.

To address the 2nd part of your post: teams don't just walk through the 9th region. It's been 10+ years since any 9th region team has gone undefeated within the region.

Finally, Congrats to Cooper & Coach Sully. They've worked hard to get where they're at, and they deserve a win like this. Part of me hopes the Colonels get another opportunity to play the Jags again in March...then again, I've always been told to be careful what you wish for.
