My next varsity win will be my 1st, but I'd imagine McNeil will have somebody face guarding him if these 2 meet again in March.

I was wondering why this wasn't done last night, I mean its no secret that Shawn can flat stroke it.

He was face-guarded nearly 100% of the 2nd half, and while he still had about 12 after the break, most of that was from the foul-line.

How was CVH guarded in this game?

Man to man, they switched nearly every screen on him, but he was able to create plenty of great looks for himself off the bounce. They just didn't go in.

Cov Cath will be fine. It's the 1st game of the year. While it sucks to lose any game, there are plenty of experiences one can learn from a loss that might be overlooked in a win. Nobody from CCH will claim this is a good thing, but it's certainly not the worst that could happen. There is plenty of work to be done, and this loss only reinforces that.

To address the 2nd part of your post: teams don't just walk through the 9th region. It's been 10+ years since any 9th region team has gone undefeated within the region.

Finally, Congrats to Cooper & Coach Sully. They've worked hard to get where they're at, and they deserve a win like this. Part of me hopes the Colonels get another opportunity to play the Jags again in March...then again, I've always been told to be careful what you wish for.

Oh I agree with you that CovCath will be just fine and that it is only one game, I was just commenting on another person's view that they thought CovCath would go thru the region undefeated.

Sean was 7/9 from the floor and 10/11 from the line. 28 points. Efficient.

Score was 23-20 Jags. Sean then hits 3 3s and CCH never recovered.

If I'm Cooper / Sully, I'm even more excited that he showed some emotion last night, and played with great confidence / swagger.

Really good question. I don't know if I can say for sure. CVH has D1 offers in his pocket. Sean doesn't have any as of yet. Two different players at the college level. CVH can play point. Sean can play the 2 and 3. Can he guard at the D1 level on the perimeter? Can CVH guard the 1 at the D1 level?

Not trying to defer. I just can't answer. I love watching both play. If you combine their strengths, tangible and intangible, into one player it's a legit D1 stud player.

Isn't CVH committed to a DII school? If so, shouldn't he reconsider?

Cole has not committed to any school.

I think Cooper is a top 3 regional competitor. I know it may be too early to say that, but judging how well they dominated last year's semifinalists, I don't think thats too implausible to make that kind of conjecture.

I clearly remember reading something stating that he was committed to a DII school. I looked again to see where I read it and I cannot find it. I don't know what I read. But I did find out that he's highly interested in Winthrop University, a DI school.

Like Roger Clemens you misremembered.

Pretty sure that a lot of people had them in the top 3 before last night...

Congrats to the Jags.

Never like to see my team lose, but an early season wake up call isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Sounds like AJ had no ill effects from FB season, 10 boards on opening night after a week's practice.

Looked for other threads but didnt see any. CCH website shows Colonel frost won by 7. No score reported for JV, anybody have that info?
