I've always heard about 300M and that about 25% of people own 70% of the guns.

Of course the real answer is actually to strip all law abiding citizens of their firearms, because we all know criminals will abide by any and all new gun laws. **heavy sarcasm**

I work with Muslims, have Muslim friends, talk to a Muslim almost every day when I stop at my local store. These are good people. I think the radical Muslims scare them as well.

Like it or not, it's not Muslims that are committing the vast majority of these crimes in the US. We need to put the focus where it belongs....on us, and why so many of our own citizens are doing this sort of thing at an alarmingly increasing rate.

But the question is, how do we attempt to curb this type of crime?

 

Let me add to this. It is playing out as terrorism, one was a U.S citizen, and they were attempting to make explosive devices.

 

How can we curb home grown terrorism?

People would rather take away all the guns in America, even though it's not possible, than to have armed guard presence that you find in Israel. We're still living in a make believe place that everyone likes each other and will get along.

Picture this... the president comes to the podium following the next shooting spree and says like all US citizens I am sickened at these events, I don't claim to have all the answers but I will bring together a group of people representative of my constituency to discuss and bring forth ideas on how to deal with this growing problem! Hell invite a representative from the NRA, if they are not interested in participating then you know where they stand, but to respond the way he has is not helping anyone, throwing gasoline on a fire usually doesn't help!

I fall into the "liberal" camp, as defined by the posters of BGP. However, I have never called for taking away the right to own guns. I've outlined what I feel needs to be changed with regard to gun ownership, but I've never called for taking away the right.

 

But, I do feel it's concerning that buying a gun is easier than buying Sudafed.
