PC will lose a lot in talent, not in pure numbers. They will lose some on defense but, they will return all but 3 starters on offense. Now, those 3 are HUGE, with Hall being the biggest loss, just from what he has done over his career. Conwell and Johnson return next year as well as the entire offensive line. With Cain getting into so many varsity games this year at QB, he should be ready for next year. Johnny Hines has always been able to develop a QB, and that will be the biggest question mark for the Maroons next year. They will still be region and semi-state contender. The cupboard is still plenty full for this PC team.

Our coach is returning so that pretty much ends any thoughts of success.

We were pretty Junior and Sophomore heavy. Lose a few good kids and on offense I doubt losing Phillips has much of an impact even though he was talented, Josh Ford is gonna be pretty dang solid at RB.

 

Return QB in his third year as a starter in junior year Taylor Hickle. Protection will have to be better but he has a solid arm.

 

Josh Ford will be the main guy running the ball and another year in the weight room I think he will be a monster the next couple years.

 

Caleb James is a good receiver, and Dalton Whitt plays all over the field and can run, catch, and pass the ball. Very fast.

Tanner Duncan emerged as a leader this year and returns on the line

 

 

Defense the presence of Peyton Wilburn will be hard to replace. Kid was all over the field last year but they return all but a couple starters on defense. Dalton Whitt at safety is excellent and Kane Phillips is a solid corner. Josh Salmons can play all over the defensive line, and Drake Dunn can make some plays as well.

 

Team should get better overall, from coaches having experience to players having experience. Look for them to get a playoff spot but will have to be 3 or 4 because Ashland and JC have top two locked up.

You said it in your last statement. Talent pool is deep at South. Yes he is a good coach but he has a wealth of talent. I'm not trying to discredit him at all. I'm sure he is a very good coach. Talent will make you look even better.

The JV also got plenty of practice in varsity games so they have some real experience there that will serve them well in the beginning of the season.

Deeper than this year? Most folks don't know what South loses or who they have coming back. That's your cue to tell us. You can spin it any way you want, but a bunch of cryptic hogwash doesn't tell us anything about your team, but tells us a lot about you.

Watch out for CAL next year, or more so the year after. Freshman QB Carr was excellent, freshman WR/safety/everything Wright was a game-changer, multiple freshmen with serious playing time and their 8th graders won the state championship. Oh yeah, junior TE/DE was top notch also..

Why is everybody saying Danville will be good next year? They lose 9 on defense, all their skill but one. Might be rebuilding time again in Title Town!

Many people thought that this year was their rebuilding year with next year being their year. Though they lose a lot they also have quite a few really talented underclass men that got limited minutes. Also their line should be getting more size and strength. i believe this if the returning players get after it in the offseason they will be just as successful next year. There are enough playmakers returning to make them dangerous for a run again.

Christian County returns 9 starters on offense and 8 on defense..
