I'd go after Herman, but he wouldn't take it IMO. He'll have much better options than Kentucky at season's end.

Herman IMO is the best young coach in the country. He honestly who I had in mind when I was typing my reply. But I agree, he'll have much better options at the end of the year than Kentucky.

I think the odds are quite good that Kentucky losses this game. Hell' date=' unless a QB change is made, I wouldn't be surprised to see them lose out. If they miss a bowl game, I think Stoops is shown the door.[/quote']

Completely disagree.

The only scenario I see where Stoops would be let go is if they lose the last 3, but even then I'm not sure.

My take on Stoops is the same that it was when they hired him: not overly excited, but I'm also okay with him. He's shown he can recruit fairly well, but the jury's still out on whether he can actually be an effective head coach.

Having said that, given what he had to work with from the outset, three years isn't long enough.

The Vandy game is big, though. A win almost assuredly guarantees a bowl game, and the program really needs that.

There is no way on God's Green Earth that Stoops is getting fired this year.

They lose out and you think he sticks around? That'd mean the team took a massive step backwards this year with a much more talented roster and a very manageable schedule.

0% chance Stoops gets fired this year. Regardless of the rest of the outcomes.

Is it a massive step backwards? They started off 5-1 last year and ended up 5-7, right? This year they started off 4-1 and are likely to end up 5-7, right?

They are still woefully short-handed on the O-line. However, the roster is much better than it was 3 years ago. He inherited a flaming pile of cow dung. What were you expecting, they'd be beating Florida and LSU in year 3?

Hard to call any schedule manageable when 8 of your 12 games are against the SEC, unless you get to play Mizzou at home 8x.

I think he (and you, and most fans, and Mitch Barnhart, and all of the players) would be very disappointed to end the season with only 4 or 5 wins. I don't think Mitch would, under any circumstance, pull the rug out from under him at that point.

They owe him way to much to get rid of him.

You would think UK football fans would know by now that firing a the HC and the backup QB don't solve anything. If you fire Stoops who would UK hire? No top level assistant would take the job knowing that 3 years is the cutoff point for a turn around. Stoops is the guy and Towles is the guy. A change now at QB and it says that the program is playing g for next year. Dawson has to become less balanced in his playing calling, his OL is not going to allow him to pound the ball so he must use various types of screens to help alleviate some of the OL issues.

If UK scores 14 in any fashion they win the game. Vandy will score one touchdown, but find it hard to believe they have the ability to score two offensive TDs.

Regardless of how the season plays out if they fire Stoops after this season then they may as well disband the football program. No one will want to coach it and no one will want to play here. If they fire Stoops it would be a colossal mistake on anyone's part to come to UK for football reasons. Colossal!!!!!!

Play to your strengths not to what you want to do but to what you can do.

You have never heard of Mitch Barnhart have you?

10-3, but not sure who'll win.

I do know Vandy's offense is inept, but UK isn't even close to being a below average team in any phase of the game.

So I guess it could be a really good game next week.

More like a really BAD game!
