They lose out and you think he sticks around? That'd mean the team took a massive step backwards this year with a much more talented roster and a very manageable schedule.

We (UK fans) want to believe this, but in the grand scheme of SEC football the talent is still sub par. UK football to get to a bowl game every year they must be able to be their OOC teams and beat Vandy. Expectations were high this year, but they were not realistic. The goal for this season was/is to make a bowl game, and that goal is still obtainable.

Completely disagree.

I'm going to second that!

Stoops troops are juniors and less now. The Cats probably lose to Vandy 9-3 :lol2:, however, Charlotte and UoL are winnable. This team can go 6-6 and go to a bowl game...a .500 team caliber of bowl game, but one nontheless!

If they lose the remaining three I can see him being put on notice for next season. Remember this HC was giving a raise after lack of success earlier. If they can win 2 more, he's on a good foot. No more and those feet will be held to the fire!!!

UK could lose the next 3 games badly and Stoops isn't going to get fired this year. With that said...is it not embarrassing as a program that we are on here questioning if UK can beat Vandy? One of the bottom rung teams in FBS? And here we are talking about it in year 3 of Stoops tenure. I'm sorry, but I think that speaks volumes about where this program is right now. And to think, in the Stoops 1-10 thread we had some giving him a passing grade. I'm a pretty optimistic guy by nature...but gosh.

Now, could it all of a sudden start clicking, the stars line up, UK slap Vandy around for a big win and start them on the road to a 3 game win streak and a bowl bid? Well, stranger things have happened I guess.

You would think UK football fans would know by now that firing a the HC and the backup QB don't solve anything. If you fire Stoops who would UK hire? No top level assistant would take the job knowing that 3 years is the cutoff point for a turn around. Stoops is the guy and Towles is the guy. A change now at QB and it says that the program is playing g for next year. Dawson has to become less balanced in his playing calling, his OL is not going to allow him to pound the ball so he must use various types of screens to help alleviate some of the OL issues.

If UK scores 14 in any fashion they win the game. Vandy will score one touchdown, but find it hard to believe they have the ability to score two offensive TDs.

I'm more worried about special teams TD's or at least setting up short fields for the Vandy offense. The Cats need to win the field position game and force the Vandy offense to sustain drives. If UK's special teams let them down again this week, Vandy wins.

Head says Vandy. Heart says UK. It seems like UK media is hinting more and more that we should expect to see Barker play on Saturday. I hope to be able to see him play in meaningful situations this Saturday and in meaningful situations going forward.

IMO win or lose Stoops will be back next year. With that being said I think Vandy defense is opportunistic and gets a score, Vandy 17 UK 14

So Pat was told if he struggles early on he's getting pulled?

Clyde?

I don't care who plays at QB as long as the Cats can get a win. If Barker does play is the O-line going to start blocking, are the receivers going to try a little harder to catch passes, is the D-line going to show up? How about special teams, are they going to improve? Are they going to do anything different with the play calling?

If the same ole KY team that lost to Georgia shows up this week, it could get ugly.

I would assume the leash is tight and short but...who knows. Like all coaches what was said by Stoops yesterday isn't necessarily the case today. Things change day to day.

Pat cut his hair in an attempt to keep his job...

I don’t think Pat needs to be told anything he’s not dumb he knows what will happen if he struggles just adding more pressure to himself. Ky’s OC needs some plays to get Pat settled in.

One thing we all can admit is that Pat has had his chances to prove himself if they go to Barker no one should be surprised and I really like Pat.

Completely agree with you! Like I said last week they are like the 90's Bengals. With A weak o-line and receivers that frequently drop balls. It really doesn't matter who is under center he is only 1 of 11.

Someone needs to step up and be a leader for the Cats today. Who will it be?
