After viewing the body cam footage the judge set the bail on these two pieces of :poop: at $1 million each.

 

The poor father has not even been told that his son is dead yet.

 

It does appear that one of the deputies has a history with the mother of the slain child. Allegedly he may have pursued a relationship with her while and her fiancé, the boy's father, told him to stay away.

 

The mayor of the town that the two officers were working in had trouble with them, and it sounds like several other officers, in the past. He had been trying to clean up the force but was stymied by the review board. The officers both had really bad service records--it doesn't sound like they should even have had badges. Very sad situation.

HOWEVER, anyone who already has a record, runs from the cops (running from one is bad enough, but this was multiple), rams a cruiser and endangers a child ... well, the ending very rarely turns out well.

 

Happened in my area a few months ago. Dad took off with his kids. High speed chase. No shots fired, but had a wreck at a major intersection. Killing a mom (on her way home) and her baby.

 

Dad's lawyer blamed the cops for chasing him for the mom/daughters' deaths.

 

Trial was quick. Maximum punishment for the dad.

 

Running from the cops should never be the plan. Ever.

 

I'm heartbroken an innocent child was thrown into this mess.

 

But for the father, though? You pull crap like that, there will be heck to pay (history with possibly corrupt cops be darned). If he thought there'd be no collateral damage, he's a moron.

 

Frankly, he's lucky he's still alive and more people weren't hurt (say the cops hit him enough for him to collide into a family van or church van or such). It could have been worse.

You might want to read about what really happened and not the false story given by the officers.

A third officer testified he did not fire his weapon because there was never a threat. Report says the body camera shows the driver with his hands up with no weapon just before the officers started shooting.

This was a convenient time to kill. Had the kid not been killed there would not have even been an arrest.

 

These 2 guys should have never been cops.

 

In all my travels, I've always feared small town LE more than big city LE because of things just like this.

As morbid as it sounds, I'd actually like to be a monitor of this trial.

Ummmm, that's not good. Whatever happened before this video started rolling was over and the situation seemed to be more under control. Appeared somebody just jumped out of their cruiser and started firing with they guy seemingly (by the video) having his hands up and out the window. Maybe someone was po'd and started shooting in anger?:idunno:
