This is a bad situation for sure. I don't agree with just get them later. It promotes criminals to just say all we have to do is run from the police and they will let us go.

 

You're not letting them go as much as your saving face from a potential headlining incident. Also not saying you can't pursue the guy however that policy usually varies department to department. You really have to weigh out everything.

But the orange spray paint on the dead-end road that marks the location and orientation of each car seems to show that Few’s car sat perpendicular to the officers’ cars, and that the volley of bullets entered through the driver’s side.

Did you watch that video link you posted? Officer rolls the guy over, and he has a gun. You don't wait and ask what his intentions are cause it only takes a second for him to shoot, I don't care what position he is in. How any trained police officer wouldn't do the same in the same situation will have to be explained to me.

Few's fiance says:

 

Few’s fiancee Megan Dixon told The Guardian that earlier that night she and Few had an argument. She left a pool hall with a friend and Few went to pick up his son from a relative’s house.

A short while later, Few pulled up next to Dixon at traffic lights and tried to get her to come home with him.

“I wouldn’t do it,” she said. “I’m stubborn.”

Moments later as the cars pulled away from the light, she said she saw two marshals’ cars — marked in black and white — approaching from behind with their lights flashing. She looked into Few’s car as he pulled away, and he was pointing at his son’s head, indicating that he was in the car and he wasn’t sure what to do.

Few was afraid of the marshals, she said, because he and one of the marshals on the scene had a prior personal conflict.

Coroner says all of the shots were from the driver's side and went through the driver's window.

 

The child was in the front seat next to his dad.

Officers involved were wearing body cameras but reports say that the video has not yet been reviewed and officers involved have refused thus far to speak to investigators. That was from yesterday so maybe they spoke today.

The two officers who fired the shots into the vehicle have been charged with murder and attempted murder.

Lead investigator from the Louisiana State Police has watched the body cam videos and says it's "the most disturbing thing" he's seen.

We may need to retract the derogatory comments about the father.

The Louisiana State Police Colonel said that charges might still be lodged against the other 2 officers. The 2 officers that were charged were working 2nd jobs as City Marshals. As Clyde posted it sounds like the father had a previous incident with one of the officers and was afraid of them--it might be why he tried to run. Jeremy Mardis was the 18th child to be killed by law enforcement officers this year...
